The Feds Know What's Best

Recommended Posts

Certainly sounds reasonable. Instead of the feds sending an EBT card loaded with $40 for every child during the summer, (much of which would probably be used on junk food) the state picks out nutritious food & instead provide families with 3 boxes of food per month rather than let families choose the meals themselves. One of the reasons the USDA denies the request is................................................ Iowa's proposal would require families to go to feeding sites to pick the boxes up.

A course in my state, directly above Iowa, tampon Timmy approved free food year round, including during summer vacation.

Why do we have to feed all the little bastards year around anyway ?

I can say that in my 30 years of working closely with government, I have never encountered anyone that knew how to properly conduct their business.   If you want inefficiency, waste with minimal payback......government is your place.

Listen, I am by no means a supporter of little Timmy Walz.

But the free school lunch for kids is a good idea (and i don't even think it was his idea to begin with).  Don't punish the kids just because of their sh!t-ass parents.

Sheee!!ttt....that hand will continue to feed me.    The government is so inept, they are a bonanza of need for someone such as myself and my org to step in and save them.  Right now, Biden is back to his old stupidity abroad, so we are trying to cash in on that stupidity to the fullest extent before Trump comes in

We spend $4 trillion at the fed level.   90 percent of it does not benefit ordinary citizens.   Even programs with good intentions have so much waste in it it is disgusting.

Nothing against the kids, I was just being a smart arse with that comment. No problem with taxpayers paying for school lunch for those families that are, for lack of a better word, poor.

I only had a problem with it when they extended it to include all families (regardless of income) & made it year-round. Not sure if it's like this in all states, but that's the way it works in Minnesota.

I understand your point, but in this case it looks like one sector of government (the state of Iowa) had an idea that would be more efficient & beneficial than the plan from the USDA/federal government.

I tried to work for FEMA and was disgusted by the ways they handled the situation and people who had no fawking idea what they were doing and how to understand those below them and those above them. Pathetic organization and those who have no nothing but a fancy degree and believe they are the ones who should fix any problems even though they no experience for the job they have.

FEMA is not great, but what if I told you there were others who were far worse?  Like, DOT... that place is an absolute disaster. I would say they need to zero it out, across the board, get rid of every breathing thing in those walls and start over.

And I would 100% agree with your assessment of the current state of the DOTD.As an independent insurance adjuster, I had to watch it closely and see what government does with them. And I didn’t like what I was learning. Between insurance commissioners, insurance companies who write policies, attorneys, and other politicians, it was a nightmare. During the aftermath of Katrina I was in denial of how the system and government works. And I realized, it doesn’t on purpose to have the system not work the way it should.

I know someone with one kid in taxachusetts and she got an EBT card with 120 on it.  I know it to be true, as she was too ashamed to use it, so I took it.

There is a word for DOT, its IMMATURITY.   Immaturity of technology, processes and people.   It defines them.....
