When I was in China, I had time to commish fun things and we'd put in a good 6-8 weeks of effort into doing something nice around here, then you'd come around and sh*t on it. This is how White House administrations work. Trump has the same roles in his administration as he did in Trump1 and this is how White Houses have worked to at least Roosevelt if not before. Last time people could just "show up" for a meeting with the president it was probably the Van Buren administration.
