I think maybe the first time ever, I didn't make the playoffs in my original 12-man ppr league (the other two I play in each year are standard and are or have been 8 or 10 man leagues).  8 guys make the playoffs and there's usually one or two absent owners each year and you really have to suck to not make it :(

In the other two I'm playing for third or fourth in one, and in the other currently in second playing the champion (2 game lead on me), and I should end up at worst 3rd but I think a slim chance I could finish 4th.  Should at least end up being a break even year for me.

My “main league” I missed the playoffs for the first time in the 12 year history (20 if you count the 10 man iteration it evolved from). Team started 6-3 and finished 6-8 😂. Had the highest league score in week 16.

Taylor and LaPorta were such busts. Losing Rashee hurt as well. I also failed to hit later RBs like I was able to in other leagues. I rode Mason and Hunt while I could but Chubb never panned out.

🤷🏻‍♂️

At least @Alias Detective and I get to square off for the Geek Balls title 😂

SF is almost as banged up as Detroit is but hasn't coped with the adversity nearly as well. Not as big a NFC Championship rematch as it seemed when the schedule came out.

Hopefully Green Bay proves useful. Going 0-4 vs Detroit and Minnesota cements their place as third wheel in the NFC North.

Win today, rest next week let everyone else beat up on each other over the next couple weeks and then bring on whoever to Arrowhead.   The Chiefs will be the healthiest team playing in the divisional round if that happens.  Merry Christmas.

The Bills will smoke KC no matter where they play.

Doesn't matter. This version is the Chiefs can't hang with a Josh Allen offense.

Kansas City tends to beat good teams by three at the last minute. They also tend to beat lousy teams by three at the last minute.

If the Chiefs win this game, their next meaningful game would be at the earliest, January 18.

I like the idea of Baltimore playing Buffalo in the divisional round for the opportunity to play kc.  The other team that scares me is Cincy, but no guarantee they even make it.   Go donks.

Baltimore looks like they belong.   Houston is going to have their hands full with the 5 seed, whoever that ends up being.

Or I guess they can beat each other off

It appears week 18 scheduling has an (Eastern times) 4:30pm game on Saturday, a 7:00 pm game on Saturday, a noon and 3:25 pm slate on Sunday, and a Sunday Night Football matchup.

Should Detroit beat SF and Minnesota beat Green Bay this week, the top matchup for week 18 becomes the Det/ Min game for the #1 seed, and I assume that would be played on Sunday night football in week 18.

The AFC doesn't seem to have much room for movement.  If the Bills beat the Jets this week, they are locked in the #2 seed and I assume they treat week 18 like a bye week and rest most starters.

The Steelers could still take the division from the Ravens so it looks like both of those teams will be playing for keeps in week 18, so I assume the Bal v Cleveland and Pit v Cincy games will be played at the same time, probably at the 3:25 pm slot on Sunday.

The other games which seem to have playoff standings merit in week 18 would be LAR v Sea, Atl v Car, Was @ Dal, and TB v NO.  Kind of hard to get a sense of which teams they would move to Saturday.  Maybe it would be the Lions and Vikings, to give the losing team an extra day of rest heading into the playoffs.  Then they could take one of the more meaningful NFC West games and put it in the SNF matchup.

Can we have the Stroud talk yet?

What do we want to talk about?

I think he's a fine QB, not elite but serviceable.  I also don't think the team around him is as good as the Ravens, Chiefs or the top handful of NFC teams.  Houston might be comparable to the Bills in terms of talent, but Josh Allen makes the Bills better than Stroud makes the Texans, IMO.  I still think Stroud has a higher ceiling than we've seen him attain, and he's still young enough to continue to grow and improve.

Houston is likely to get rolled at home, as will the NFC South winner.
