I cannot speak for employers other than the ones I have had. We have a robust DEI program that expands the hiring pool by recruiting minorities to apply for jobs. This gives us more people from which to choose the best hire. If my HR department has 20 applicants to fill a position instead of 10, that's a win. More potentially qualified candidates from which to choose. If Trump declares DEI initiatives prosecution-worthy and withholds federal money from companies practicing it, my employer stands to be in big trouble. For doing the right thing; giving underserved minorities a chance to compete on an even playing field. They may not get hired, since there are NO QUOTAS, but at least they have a shot.
