The Butler did it…. traded to Warriors..,

Recommended Posts

  • Warriors receive: Jimmy Butler

  • Heat receive: Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson P.J. Tucker, the Warriors' 2025 first-round pick with top-10 protection

  • Utah Jazz receive: Dennis Schröder

  • Detroit Pistons receive: Lindy Waters III, Josh Richardson

The Toronto Raptors were previously reported to be getting Anderson, but that component has since fallen through.

Minutes after first breaking news of the trade, Charania reported Butler has agreed to a two-year, $121 million extension to stay with Golden State through the 2026-27 season. Butler subsequently provided his own confirmation, via musical tweet.

I don't think butler fits into Kerr's system, but I'll watch to see how it plays out on the court.

I was surprised they gave up Wiggins. He's been pretty solid over there.  I guess you have to give up something but I would have assumed they would send someone younger along with Schroder and a pick.

I agree, but still there's this: A potected pick allows the team who trades a pick to retain it if it falls within a current range (such as if it a top-5 pick or a draft lottery pick) with them often giving the team who receives the pick an unprotected pick in the following years draft as compensation.

I don't consider Jimmy Butler much of an improvement over Andrew Wiggins, and Dennis Schroeder is a pretty good player the Warriors parted with too.
