Mike Hunt 264 Posted February 11 Odd world we live in. I brought home groceries last week in my usual paper bags. My youngest daughter was standing with me putting stuff away. I asked her to save the paper bags so we can cut down on the plastic bags as they were the sturdy type when she said... "Almost everything you bought is in plastic" I looked and had a big Folgers plastic coffee container, 5 Gatorades in plastic, cottage cheese in plastic, milk in plastic. feta cheese in plastic, diet soda in plastic, just to name a few.  I thought I am trying not to use the plastic bags when they seem to be the least of the plastic problem.

Red White and Blue 81 Posted February 11 I’m probably an outlier here, but I like the reusable bags more - much easier to pack than paper in plastic and holds more groceries so fewer bags.

Nope. I even got a couple of insulated ones for cold stuff. They’re awesome!

No. You're a typical brain dead liberal. Not an outlier.

No one can help you with that.

Problem solved. Trump believes states ought to make their own choices for stuff like this. Trump did sign a EO to get rid of paper straws in government and federal buildings tho.
WhiteWonder 2,681 Posted February 11 I really don't care. I'm fine bringing reusable bags with me. Although thin plastic bags were not really the problem. I always held onto them and reused them as pet poop bags, trash liners in the bathroom and office, to go bags for friends, etc etc. I now have so many reusable shopping bags I have no clue what to do with them, and im not even someone who forgets their bags and buys more at the store. They are part of every corporate giveaway goody bag, charities send them when asking for donations. If I throw them out, how is that any better than throwing out the plastic bags? because eventually the felt will decompose? You could bring back the plastic bags in bulk to ShopRite if you wanted.

When I remember I bring some plastic milk crates I took from behind a grocery store that closed. Grabbed 10 of them as they are good for garage storage too.
