No. But I’m not the one that tossed them.  History did.

Is that so?

Hey man, just because you have a crush on Grohl doesn’t mean everyone else thinks he’s so awesome. I chalk up his awesomeness to very little competition for his age. Many people think he’s a doosh.

Ginger Baker and Buddy Rich were huge dooshes, but I neither strike them from the list of all-time greatest drummers nor dismiss all the albums upon which they played.

At least Grohl has worked his ass off to help the homeless and wildfire victims, and it's just dumb to dismiss Nirvana, Foo Fighters, The Crooked Vultures and other groups in which he has participated just because you think he's a doosh.

You're a doosh, and I don't dimiss everything you post.

🤣

I don’t think he’s all that talented. He just has a very small field he’s playing in. Plus drummers? Sort of like great base players. Dime a dozen.

He did play all of the instruments on the first Foos album.

Rock was pretty much dead as the dominant genre in American music when Dave Grohl came along. Plus he’s always there. Fock, I was watching the Jimmy Buffett memorial concert and that assshole was there. Seriously? I’m sure he was a big fan.  Phony as they come.

Am I missing something?  Why are we talking about Dave Grohl?  Nirvana and Foo Fighters are not on this list.

Tribute to the Clash after Joe Strummer died? Grohl was there. Joan Jett indicted into HOF? That doosh has to stick his face in and play guitar, as if she needed the help. There are so many more.

its funny that you say Grohl isn't talented, but spent time watching a Jimmy Buffet memorial concert. Buffet stinks.

Buffett is fun. No one has ever said he’s Elton John. You seem to have a stick up your ass.

I stated that I thought Killing Joke should be nominated because they invented industrial metal, and that an album that Dave Grohl played on kicked ass, and then Hardgirl dismissed the entire band and its body of work because Grohl played on one album, and he thinks Grohl is a doosh because he's made appearances with other rockers.

He no make-o no sense, but that seems to be par for the course with this bruh.

Why don't you participate in the discussion instead of dooshing up the place?

What bands do you think ought to be in that aren't?

They don't actually belong thanks to their music, but they were a huge cultural phenomenon, and they did have "Stairway to Heaven."

Poor attempt.  Why don’t you step aside ? This is mine now.  Like Whitney with “I Will Always Love You”.

See previous comments about how under represented metal and punk are as genres in the HOF. I can only think of 2 metal bands that I would put in over Maiden: Sabbath and Metallica. Both of them are in. It's time. UP THE IRONS!

ETA: Motorhead is loooooong overdue for enshrinement as well.

I dunno if The Monkees should be in. They were a corporate manufactured band, like many of the "Boy Bands" are today. They had a bunch of nice hits but didn't write any of them (which were mostly products of the Brill Building). I can think of some more derserving 60s bands which I already named (Tommy James & Shondells in particular).

Yeah, as I said, as a cultural phenomenon rather than a musical influence, although they did have a lot of massive hits and their place in rock history.

People went nuts for their reunion in the 1980s.

So, just the Monkees are on the hook for not writing their own songs? Lol. Shows how much some of you know. Squishtard leading the charge.

They wrote about half their own material in later albums, including "Daydream Believer."

Elton John had a lot of help with his music.

Not true.

Fun Fact from Wiki:

"Daydream Believer" is a song composed by American songwriter John Stewart shortly before he left the Kingston Trio.

Exactly. I could list so many more but I’ll just point out the greatest of them all, Elvis Presley.

They let too many people in each year. Now one person a year then you are really getting the cream of the crop.

Not much money in that.

I guess squishy never heard of Holland Dozier Holland. He’s only interested when white acts don’t write their own songs.

When I was like 7 years old, the neighbor kid, who was like 18, gave me all his Elvis singles, most likely original pressings.

I wore out those fockers on my cheap turntable and still have them.

I went and saw an Elvis tribute artist last year, and he did a version of "Poke Salad Annie," which I'd never before heard. It was a hell of a performance and got me listening to his later work, and some of that stuff blew me away.

Some of his best songs are in his later work.

It really wasn't until his last year that he got all fat and gross.

See I love orchestra Elvis the best. Even the fat stuff. Go check out him doing Unchained Melody at the end. Still awesome.
