74 year old grandmother in Glasgow arrested for silent vigil within 656 feet of an abortion clinic

Recommended Posts

Good Lord.  The UK has become a Leftist hellhole.  Just days after JD Vance was ridiculed for warning against the new Scottish draconian law banning any type of protests within 656 feet of abortion clinics, a 74 year grandma - silently standing and praying while holding a sign reading, “Coercion is a crime. Here to talk, only if you want” is arrested by police for a “silent vigil”.

Here’s the criminal holding her sign

Here’s the Nazis arresting her

Glasgow police on Wednesday arrested a woman, 74, for allegedly breaching a buffer zone around an abortion center. A video of the arrest posted by the Scottish Family Party showed the woman, named in the video as Rose Docherty, standing outside the Queen Elizabeth Hospital holding a sign that read: “Coercion is a crime, here to talk, only if you want.” Police informed her she was violating the law and gave her an opportunity to leave voluntarily. When she refused, she was led away in handcuffs.

Here’s another example, this time in England.  This is truly unbelievable and has to be seen to be believed.  Here’s the video.

A man is standing outside an abortion facility, in a public space, praying silently for his dead son who was murdered in an abortion 20 years ago.  The police actually interrogate him about what exactly he is praying about.  When they determine that the nature of his prayer is abortion related, they charge him with breaking the law and fine him.

This is something you’d expect to see in communist Russia in the 1960’s.  It’s happening today in the United Kingdom.

She was in a restricted zone due to the potential harassment of patients entering or leaving the abortion center.

She was warned and refused to leave, so she was arrested. The result would be the same in this country.

Leave it to you to defend this.  You’d make a perfect SS Trooper.  She wasn’t harassing anyone you little Nazi.  She was standing silently with a sign offering that if any woman felt like they were being coerced into having the abortion, that she was available for them to talk to - “Only if you want.”

Here’s another arrest, with a SquidTard-like Nazi interrogating a woman as to why she is standing there - not talking to anyone, and not holding a sign.  When she says, “I might be praying in my head” he arrests her.

The UK is gone.

She was standing too close to the clinic in violation of the law, the police warned her and she refused to leave. That’s on her.

The UK has access to all photos and texts on Apple phones. These governments are trying to make people feel powerless. Their goal is to make divine beings, us, surrender their power.

We could easily make all this bs go away if we began ignoring them.

Here’s the law, you boot licking Nazi.  Grandma didn’t do anything to influence, impede, or harass anyone.  She was standing silently, holding a sign advising people of a legal right (that coercing someone to get an abortion is a crime) and offering to talk “only if you want”.

4. Offence of influencing, preventing access or causing harassment etc. in safe access zone

(1) A person who is in a safe access zone for protected premises commits an offence if the person does an act with the intention of, or is reckless as to whether the act has the effect of—

(a) influencing the decision of another person to access, provide or facilitate the provision of abortion services at the protected premises,

(b) preventing or impeding another person from accessing, providing or facilitating the provision of abortion services at the protected premises, or

(c) causing harassment, alarm or distress to another person in connection with the other person’s decision to access, provide or facilitate the provision of abortion services at the protected premises,

where in each case the other person is in the safe access zone for the purpose of accessing, providing or facilitating the provision of abortion services at the protected premises.

The buffer zone law, passed last July, criminalizes any attempts to influence a mother’s decision about abortion within roughly 600 feet of an abortion center. Prohibited activity can include protests, preaching, or silent vigils.

I cited the exact law, every single word, you idiot.  Nowhere in the law does it mention silent vigils.  Try again, Nazi.

@Patented Phil I agree this arrest seems extreme. On the other hand you would hopefully agree that there needs to be SOME kind of laws regulating protests, right? What should those be, in your opinion?

So I assume you were consistent in also supporting laws regulating the 2020 BLM protests.  How about no protest within 600 feet of businesses that were trying to survive in Kenosha?  Or how about a law restricting the right to assemble or protest within 600 feet of a police station in Minneapolis?  I could go on and on here but you get the point.

In answer to your question, Tim, there have always been laws on the books prohibiting people from being physically harassed or restricted from getting an abortion.  I’m 100% in favor of enforcing those laws.

It should be understood that if she had been allowed to do that, then tomorrow there could be a dozen or maybe even fifty doing a silent vigil in the buffer zone.

And why should she get a pass to breatk the law because she is a granny?

I’m still not sure I do. I don’t really see the parallel to the BLM protests. Most of those protests started off as parades down wide streets or boulevards. Black Lives Matter, or whoever the organizing group was, had to get a permit long beforehand. If no permit was had, the protest was broken up and that was proper. Late in the evening, long after all the BLM people went home, thugs would emerge who would burn or loot. Those that were caught were arrested. This was also proper.

In this situation it seems reasonable to me that there needs to be some regulation regarding protests. If someone breaks that regulation then the police has no choice but to arrest them; that doesn’t make them Nazis and your use of that term is unfortunate IMO. That being said, it also seems unreasonable to make a silent vigil that is several hundred feet away from the clinic illegal.

A boot licking Nazi says what? 😆

So if the law applied to no protests or silent vigils within 600 feet of Trump Tower, a federal building, courthouse, police station, etc - during the 2020 Summer of Love - you’d still be defending it?

You are a filthy, rotten, anti-free speech,  Leftist hack.

And what about this arrest @The Real timschochet?  Do you think this arrest “seems extreme”. Or would you have enough balls to say, “it is extreme”?

It’s not a question of balls. It’s a question of the police carrying out the law which they’re obligated to do. What I don’t know is how many warnings they gave her beforehand and what her response to the warnings were. These situations are rarely as black and white as they originally appear. Thats why I wrote seems extreme.

My point is clear as a bell.  The fact you missed it is unsurprising.  Fact is, you and the other Leftists in here only support free speech and laws that coincide with your beliefs.  Absolute free speech?  “Yes, as long as it’s not within 656 feet of an abortion facility.”

We see you.  We know what you are.

Did you watch the video?  The police literally interrogate someone standing alone in public, without a sign, not talking or gesturing to anyone, what she is thinking in her silent prayer?  😆

I have to believe that you just don’t read or watch the things that are posted in here.  Otherwise, you are a Nazi.  And  with regard to this specific video, and your inability to condemn it full stop - that’s not an exaggeration.

The looting and burning only began after the good people left and those that were doing the destruction were arrested.  Yet somehow it went on for days.

The UK is lost, people.  They don't have freedom of speech laws.

The UK is more closely aligned with China, North Korea, and a lot of those other socialist countries. Wouldn't be surprised if they drop out of NATO within the next decade or two.

That sucks because I love the rich history over there. Wife keeps asking me if we should move there and I said no f****** way. Not only would I lose my freedom of speech I would also lose all my firearms.

imagine not being able to simply condemn the three videos I posted in here. You know, I used to not want to believe that some of the people in here were evil. I didn’t watch the video. I’ve stopped watching videos on the internet. They’re usually edited and I don’t trust them. I read articles from reputable sources; that’s how I get my news.

The people that have been getting arrested in this country, have been taken place with no buffer zone, when I go out preaching, I get talked to by police just for standing with my Bible in my hand, because someone was offended, the police once they understood the issue, then go bully the one making the false claim.

But sadly in this country silent prayer, or preaching can get you tossed into jail, or a citation.

Freedom of speech is leaving.  Indeed

@Patented Phil based on your description of what happened here I don’t think there is any evil going on one way or another.

Evil does exist but I think we should be careful of using that term, or Nazi. Hamas is evil. The Russian invasion of Ukraine was evil. Pedophiles and rapists are evil. Pol Pot was evil. Charles Manson, etc.

Police who arrest an old woman, no matter how misguided it might be, aren’t evil. Those that defend the police who arrested the old woman, however wrong they might be, aren’t evil. Nor are they Nazis. You make these words meaningless when you apply them in this fashion.

What are you talking about? Read the focking thread.  And this time watch the focking videos.  This isn’t a warped view at all.  Yours is the warped view, which is kind of easy to understand since you won’t watch the videos.

I posted two videos in here where police arrested two people for simply standing in silent prayer. Nothing else. In both videos the police actually interrogated the people as to what they were praying about.  One guy was praying for his dead son who had been aborted at the nearby facility 20 years ago.  There’s no “missing context” here.  The videos have been well publicized and vetted, and a 2-minute Google search confirms both arrests happened as shown.  This isn’t “kind of like” thought police.  It is actual thought police.

I’m done dealing with you clowns.  I feel like I need a shower after posting in here.
