They’re pretty mainstream. Certainly not a modern day conservative. But hardly extreme. Is there something we are missing here?

I retract that statement, as it appears he is taking some more pragmatic/centrist actions, including a repeal of the carbon tax despite his strong support of climate/alternative energy.  I guess time will tell.

Well, let's see.  DOGE contributes to a balanced budget; hopefully you can agree that reducing size and waste is consistent with conservative principles.  You've made hundreds of posts about DOGE -- please point to one that supports it, or if not, at least supports the concept (if not for that evil $400 billionaire trying to steal your retirement funds).  TIA

I support rooting out waste fraud and abuse.  Obviously.  I do not support DOGE, because DOGE is not about that.  The goal is/was to find a trillion dollars in savings to be used for tax cuts.  The crowning jewel of DOGE was ending USAID, that I do not agree with as they did great work.  Most of the "savings" from DOGE where legit expenditures approved by Congress.  Maybe there will end up being some small savings but the program is already on its way out.  Musk stole all the data, that's what he wanted.  There were a bunch of lies told and laws broken, and I'm sure other things broken as well that we'll be finding out for years.

If we want to stop waste fraud and abuse, bring back the IG's that Trump fired, conduct legal audits, etc.  DOGE was a BS campaign to try and get bigger tax cuts.  Oh did you get your DOGE rebate yet?

Also, how can anyone conclude that adding that many blue voters would improve the country? That's stupid on top of stupid. Leave them alone and give them California as an apology or offer to swap California for Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.

Ahhh....of course.  I thought he might have done something I wasn't aware of.  Yeah, that was stupid.  Not only did the Conservatives not win when they should have, Canada went ahead and elected an even further far-left party to replace the already far-left Trudeau.

Like I said, the world has a far-left problem, not a far-right problem.  Far-left ideologies have sewn so much destruction in the world it's a wonder that they're still around, much less having any political power.  Humans don't learn anything from history.
