2025 NFL Draft Profile - CB/WR Travis Hunter

Recommended Posts

Obviously this guy is a phenomenal athlete. Whatever team drafts him.won't be disappointed. It was mentioned in the profile that the teams that are a best fit for his talent were the Packers, Raiders, Jaguars, Patriots, Giants and Browns. The first 3 teams listed won't even get a sniff to draft him. Probably the Patriots won't get the chance either. I'd be very surprised if he isn't drafted within the first 3 picks. The Giants areprobably hoping that the Browns take Sanders so they can scarf him up at #3. Yet he should be a lock to be drafted in the first 3 picks. While he's an exceptional cornerback he receiving skills could use a little work, especially his route running. He's said if he can't play both offense and defense he'd rather not play football. Therein lies his conundrum. While he played both sides of the ball in college it was not against NFL players. The grind of a full NFL season is going to tax hus body and also increases the odds of getting injured. I hope that doesn't happen but because he'll be a dual player he could well have a target on his back. He'd probably be best served to play cornerback full time and receiving part-time at least early to get acclimated to the NFL grind. It'll.be fun to watch he play and hope garners success on both sides of the ball

I think the browns are going to do something stupid and select sanders or dart. Or maybe they are smart and trade to a qb needy team that then drafts sanders or dart. He could be there at 3 for the giants and man it would be an absolute treat to see him and nabers get fed the ball 50 times  game by Jameis "someone has to be down there" winston

Agreed.  He will probably play KR as well.

Until he's declared, I'm nervous in Dynasty Leagues. I have decent first round capital but the draft is too RB heavy for me to take a flyer and hope that he plays WR.

He could be WR1 or WR51, who knows?

This is what I expected.  I think he’ll play more DB because that’s what the Jags need more.  Even if he is on the field for 50% of the offensive snaps he won’t be consistent enough to rely on.  This is why I keep saying Dyami Brown is a good sleeper as the locked in #2 in that offense that will be much improved.

Much improved, did they make a Qb change?

Was thinking the same. If Hunter isn’t the X factor. How are they much better?

I drafted him 5 overall in a Dynasty Draft as the WR2, right after Tet went off the board. There's a part of me that's a little nervous and there's a part of me that can't see why Jacksonville would trade up and out of next years draft for a part time player at any position.

But then again it's The Jaguars, they're a joke.

I’m not sure how you can say a player that will most likely play the most snaps of anyone else on the team is part time.  This may come as a shock to you, but they traded up to get the player they wanted to help the team in multiple places…not your fantasy team.  You may have made a poor decision with your #5 pick…so the joke may just be on you when it’s all said and done.  Good luck!

If he's playing part time at any position then he's a part time player. He's going to get killed if he's playing both sides of the ball, that's just reality in the NFL.

Why would the Jags pay up and out of next years draft for 1/2 of a WR and half of a CB? It makes zero sense. They could of drafted Tet and back up for the CB1 instead, right?

I think they'll use him primarily as a WR and by a very large margin. 75% or more

If I’d burnt a #5 pick on him I’d think that too.  Hope is not a strategy.

I don't know, it just seems like a lot of draft capital for someone who may or not play 50% of the snaps. If so it was a ploy to sell tickets, not win games.

Ah, I think I’ve found the disconnect.  Im going to type slow this time so you can follow along.  Believe it or not, the NFL counts the plays the other team takes as snaps too…so by the Transitive Property of geometry those snaps count for the defense too.  You simply have to add those up together.  The NFL uses an algorithm for that:  OFFENSIVE snaps + DEFENSIVE snaps = TOTAL snaps.  Carry the 1, and divide by #5 pick and you get oops!
