CNN's Harry Enten says Democrats have no clear 2028 frontrunner as the party remains 'historically divided'

CNN senior political data reporter Harry Enten marveled on Friday at how the Democratic Party has not only failed to find a new leader, but continues to disappoint voters.

CNN News Central host Kate Bolduan spoke about former Vice President Kamala Harris breaking her recent silence by speaking in a lengthy interview with late-night host Stephen Colbert, Thursday. Bolduan observed that Harris spoke about her choice not to run for the governorship of California and left the door open for another presidential run in 2028.

But Enten argued the Democrats’ search for a new leader is long from over, suggesting the party remains "historically divided" over the proper path forward to the point that they are "messier than a hoarder’s basement."

Every criticism offered of the Democrats is dead on: they’re in shambles, nobody likes them, nobody respects them, they’re a total mess.

They’re not wrong. For the past 30+ years the Dems have abandoned labor, embrace Wall Street and big pharma / big tech, and turned their back on middle America and working class white people. The party spends an enormous amount of time pandering to minorities and special interest groups and very little time coming up with practical solutions to actual problems like the cost of housing and healthcare. They’ve earned their image.

I think you’re missing the actual effect that the tariffs will have a year from now and going forward.

I was a registered republican in Cali for a long time. I voted for Regan. 

I will not vote Republican again, but I sure wish I had a better party to vote for than the Dems.
