You were always fun to be around, even when you were an way back in 98,' Still recording albums? Yeah, I'll send you a link. Rusty II took "Shark Dance" and the next four albums and threw them up on Spotify and Youtube, and that motivated me to finish my most recent album, which came out last year. I gave him a bunch of cassette tapes to go through, and one of them was a recording of some mostly acoustical stuff I'd made for my dad. It's super low-fi, but I thought it was good enough to just throw out there with the rest of my stuff. I've got three new ones and a bunch of bits, pieces and ideas for a new album but not quite ready to dig into that one. I think my latest focking kicks ass.

Yeah, I think you'll like the latest one, "Harvey." The usual stupidity mixed with face-melting riffs. The title track, which closes out the album, is my sonic interpretation of a hurricane coming and going.

I'm glad it's preserved so I don't lose any of it. I stopped recording for a bit after cats broke into my recording space and peed on my multitrack recorder, ruining it. Maybe they'd had enough.

I think it's funny, actually. James McMurtry's Facebook page says, "Steadily Shedding Fans Since 1989," and I love that. He doesn't pander to audiences and does whatever the fock he wants. That was the whole spirit of "Shark Dance" in the first place, and my latest release of new material might be my best. After that, I gave my son a bunch of ancient cassette tapes to digitize, and one of them of mainly me and an acoustic guitar - made for my dad - sounded so stripped down and low-fi that I had my son throw that up there as well. He was boasting to everyone how he got a singing part in a community musical. He invited all of us. I didn't go. And hearing reviews from the coworkers that saw it, I'm glad "I couldn't make it". So funny how they all felt the need to pretend that he was good.
