1/2 day of work Saturday then a wedding. Riding the coast from Newburyport to Portland Sunday.

Not much. Taking my son to get his school uniform for the upcoming year and getting ready for a week in Wildwood starting next Saturday.

Today's the day we think we will find out about a major contract renewal.  I'd say we have less than a 20% chance or renewing it.   Which will lead to some big job losses.   Maybe even me in a year or so if we don't replace that work.

But cest la vie.   I can retire today if I wish, just don't want to yet.

Is Wildwood family oriented now ? When I was teenager and early 20’s we would go to wildwood and seaside heights and it was party towns - wild crazy time.

Good luck man.  Sounds like you have the right mindset going into it.  What do you do for a living?

Yes, especially North Wildwood where we stay. It’s all rental condos now and quiet at night. I never went there as a kid but that was my impression too. My wife tells me it’s changed a ton since the 80s/90s.

Transportation Director.  Most of our work is automotive related and those guys are just tough to deal with.   Can be the best carrier EVER...and it still comes down to lowest price.   Not a shock of course, especially with the pressures the automotive industry is under these days.  We have had this contract for 3 years and done very well performance wise.   But there is always competition and always someone to do it for less.   

But yeah as far as my financials, no worries.  My wife and I will die with money in the bank.   Even if I was let go tomorrow.   And that's very comforting.  So not terribly worried about the next phase.    Will play it out.

I have a friend who worked in logistics (trucking) who was let go from his job recently. He talks about many of the same issues that you mentioned.  Good luck moving forward man.

I dont even know how i got here. I did get a supply chain degree.  Started out of college with a transportation company and 35 years later, im still playing trucks.

Daughter graduated from basic training on Thursday and is joining the Florida National Guard. I'm not at home, this post finds me halfway back from Fort Jackson, deep in backwoods Alabama, participating in water recreation near Lake Eufaula. I'll be finishing the return trip home tomorrow.
