So which police force from what city in the US should be taking the lead on Venezuela attacking this country with drugs?

Coast Guard, ATF, DEA, FBI, when they enter our waters, or coordinate with the foreign nation whose waters they enter. Jefferson Parish has certainly seen its share of drug busts off Grand Isie & Barataria Bay, our LE isn’t shy about bragging about it either. They lay it out on TV.

No. This is statement time. Blow them the fock up if they keep sending drug ships our way. And maybe, just maybe, they'll stop sending them until the next creepy Joe gets in office and opens the border again.

Statement time. Ok. This is probably consolidating popular support around Maduro & isn’t doing a damn thing to stanch the flow of drugs. The FBI has dismantled its unit fighting transnational organized crime. They’re basically running free right now.

I’d rather the FBI & DHS do it’s work, which is far more effective & legal.

It apparently hasn't stopped drugs flowing in from Venezuela. Time for the big boys to step up.

The US stopping illegal drug flow from foreign countries into our nation is illegal?

1. Of course. We’re the richest nation in the planet. I’ve got a secret for you: we buy the drugs & we’re the reason they make it. We also make the guns that make growing, shipping & selling the drugs possible. In fact we make it as easy as possible for these SOBs to get guns to sell us drugs.

2. Pfft, absolutely not. International waters are protected for international shipping. Guess whose idea that was? Yep, ours. It’s why we have every legal right to bomb the hell out of Yemen when their rebels hit our ships in open waters. Etc.

So Trump is buying the drugs he's having blown up? Or, he's a secret drug runner himself? And blowing it up?

It would be nice to make a serious point here. My guess is Maduro *is involved in drug running, & it would be nice & a really cool justification for attacking these ships if they proved some tie-in. But this administration isn’t doing that.

My actual point: the US  will always be buying so it will always be worth it to everyone south of Juarez to make it & ship it.

We're going to need more from you than this.

My understanding is they have have expanded Joint Task Force Alpha and Joint Task Force Vulcan, which would mean that they are doing the exact opposite of what you claim.  Here's my link, please provide yours: https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/department-justice-announces-significant-enforcement-and-expansion-efforts-dismantle

Bloomberg, from May.

- DOJ has also shut down public integrity/corruption units & foreign influence counter intelligence units. The Trump IC has done much the same.

You're link is behind a paywall, but I know a way around: https://archive.is/FLupk

Well, I'll be damned, I was sure you were full of it. This makes no sense though since combatting transnational crime is a major Trump policy position. I'll have to learn more.

  • Thanks 1

Yeah, SIDS is reaching for anything to glom on to.  He's full of sh#t most of the time, because his TDS requires it.

You're right that OCDETF is being shut down. Its hard to pinpoint a reason but the closest as I can tell.is that there's been some reshuffling and the work is being conducted through other agencies with overlapping responsibilities. Trump has made fighting the cartels a major policy position with Joint Task Force Alpha and Vulcan, again I can't find the reason why this group OCDETF, was deemed expendable and its mission given to these other divisions.

 Thank you for the link.

Coast Guard seizes 100,000 pounds of cocaine through Operation Pacific Viper

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Coast Guard announced Tuesday it has seized more than 100,000 pounds of cocaine in the Eastern Pacific Ocean since launching Operation Pacific Viper in early August, averaging over 1,600 pounds interdicted daily.

These drug seizures, and the apprehension of 86 individuals suspected of narco-trafficking, were the result of 34 interdictions since early August.

Through Operation Pacific Viper, the Coast Guard is accelerating counter-drug operations in the Eastern Pacific Ocean, where significant transport of illicit narcotics continues from Central and South America. In coordination with international and interagency partners, the Coast Guard is surging additional assets — cutters, aircraft and tactical teams — to interdict, seize and disrupt transshipments of cocaine and other bulk illicit drugs. Operation Pacific Viper continues the Coast Guard’s efforts to protect the Homeland, counter narco-terrorism and disrupt Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Transnational Criminal Organizations and cartels seeking to produce and traffic illicit drugs into the United States.

“The Coast Guard’s seizure of over 100,000 pounds of cocaine, in such a short timeframe, is a remarkable achievement,” said Rear Adm. Jeffrey Novak, deputy commander of U.S. Coast Guard Pacific Area. “When we say the Coast Guard is accelerating counter-narcotics operations, we mean it. Alongside our partners and allies, our maritime fighting force is scouring drug smuggling routes in the Eastern Pacific and dismantling narco-terrorist networks. We are complementing the Coast Guard’s unique law enforcement authorities with cutting-edge capabilities to stop the flow of deadly drugs that threaten U.S. communities. As we mark our interdiction of 100,000 pounds, we are already working towards the next milestone."

Thanks for confirming they don’t need to kill the traffickers to prevent drugs from entering the country

If we go to war or force a regime change, will you admit you were wrong?  Because if you don’t answer, I will never admit I was wrong if we don’t.

Most likely scenario IMO though is we don’t officially declare war, just force a regime change and @Meglamaniac will play semantics and claim he was “right” despite not actually providing his own opinion.

@Voltaire agreed that regime change counts.
