If you actually go to the target website and add up everything in their bundle, it's $22.09

oh no, are you one of those people who get fooled by name brand stuff or think that target store brand is any different than any grocery store brand?

of course making your own sides from scratch with quality ingredients is preferred but most people are not doing that for every aspect of their t-day meal

Not sure about this Target deal or whatever the hell a LDIL is but the WlaMart deal that is advertised as the lowest ever is less stuff and more generic brands than ever before.

It's all marketing.

Any smart person knows that grocery prices are higher now than they were a year ago and there is no relief in sight.

Lidl is similar to Aldi. I've only been maybe twice this year as it's not as convenient for me as it used to be but I used to go all the time. I've always tried to shop smartly if it doesn't cause me to go out of the way of my normal routines. Lidl has always been less expensive than the traditional supermarkets around me. "name brand" stuff is cheaper, and their own label stuff is usually a great deal. Again, people get fooled into thinking generic is worse. If you need a specific type of asiago cheese, yes, you need that brand.... but your canned corn is not going to be any different.

Not familiar with Aldi either but have heard of it or seen it while traveling I think.

The important part of this is yea stuff is more expensive now than it was last year. The various deals aside.

Personally don’t mind some generic brands but like to pay the extra for the proteins and veggies/fruits.

I was just letting you know what Lidl was in general. I discovered it around 2017 and there was a convenient location on my way home from work at the time. When egg prices were out the azz, I would get mine from Lidl instead of ShopRite, for example. Same with almond milk. (I prefer whole milk but I don't use milk enough for it to not go bad and I do like almond) I suppose I prefer Califia Farms but Lidl almond milk is perfectly good and like half the price

also no matter where you shop, in so many cases the store brand item is the exact same thing as the name brand item, just with a different label. Not all of the time, but more than you probably think... it's just marketing.

A lot of this is on Donald and his bullshet over the top stuff he spits out. People are pointing out that everything costs more, he said he’d “fix it” day one. People call him out on this and he melts down.

He does this for pretty mix everything.

Butterball Turkey, 13.5 lb. ($0.97/lb. — lowest price since 2019

I was commenting on your quote of the Walmart dinner. It’s cheaper because they give you less stuff. That’s what retailers will do when things cost more but want to present value.

My comment was about the OP's article stating that the price of Turkey was up 70%. Notice, my only quote was the cost of the turkey.

Willing to bet that's the biggest expense people have on Thanksgiving.

Also, for your point about less items, that happens all the time.  This isn't new.  It happens all the time, under every governor, senator, HoR, and President.  Basically, it's like saying... we breathe air.  Like, yeah, thanks for sharing.

People eat a lot of sides at Thanksgiving 😂

This is Don’s problem - he went on like a moron that everything would be cheaper day one. It’s not and he gets all pissy when people are like “hey dummy all this shet costs way more”.

Yup! LIDL is amazing because they always have the oddball meats, cheeses and random stuff that you can't find anywhere else. It's great for the Holidays

Ok, so the most expensive item which is the focal point of the meal is cheaper than it was pre-Covid and me calling the OP out on that is irrelevant.  BUT, the fact that the cheaper side items are more expensive, that's the bigger issue?

Got it, so when every politician runs on a campaign that they're going to lower prices and make everything more affordable... then they don't, Trump is the only person that is to be called out.

Yes. Making fun of this braggart dipshit who spent years saying how everything is terrible and he’d fix it all in one day..:and it turns out things are going worse is what is happening here.

It’s fine to admit this, since it’s happening.
