They not like us.

Instead of worrying why strangers want to dance at a funeral, ask why those that are LIKE YOU shoot up children’s schools or want to kill multitudes of innocent people at an airport.

I get the feeling that the OP is probably not a fan of the Jazz funerals that are held in New Orleans either. 😀

This thread should be renamed Racism at The Geek Club.

After this does anyone doubt what the OP thinks of Black people?

Let’s check Grok

Is twerking at funerals appropriate ?

No, twerking at funerals is not appropriate in the vast majority of cultural contexts.

Funerals are rituals centered on grief, respect for the deceased, and communal mourning (or, in some celebratory traditions like New Orleans jazz funerals, dignified joy and remembrance). Twerking — a highly sexualized, provocative dance move — clashes hard with that tone. It’s almost universally seen as disrespectful, attention-seeking, or straight-up mocking the dead and the bereaved.

There are tiny exceptions:
- If the deceased explicitly requested a wild, irreverent send-off in their will (e.g., “I want strippers and twerking at my funeral”), and the family is 100% on board, then technically it’s their funeral and their rules.
- In some hyper-modern, atheist, or counter-cultural circles people treat funerals like parties, but even then twerking usually crosses the line into cringe or offense.

Real-world examples (viral videos of people twerking on caskets in places like the Dominican Republic, Ghana, or the U.S.) almost always trigger backlash, fights, or the dancer getting dragged out. Public opinion is overwhelmingly negative.

Bottom line: unless the dead person literally wrote “twerk on me” in their will and everyone present signed off on it, keep the ass-shaking for the club, not the cemetery. It’s not about being “prudish”; it’s basic respect for a solemn occasion.

So you couldn't find any videos of white folks in this country twerking at a funeral?

Or in the alternative, did you find some but didn't share them because they woudn't reinforce the racist intent of this thread?

Is the OP racist ? Don't know, don't care. That said, I don't think pointing out what to the vast majority of people is a disgusting act (at least when you consider the venue) makes someone a racist.

It's racist when you're not on their si(D)e.  It's ok if they (D)o it.
