College student deported over thanksgiving weekend

Concord, N.H. (AP) — A college freshman trying to fly from Boston to Texas to surprise her family for Thanksgiving was instead deported to Honduras in violation of a court order, according to her attorney.

Any Lucia Lopez Belloza, 19, had already passed through security at Boston Logan International Airport on Nov. 20 when she was told there was an issue with her boarding pass, said attorney Todd Pomerleau. The Babson College student was then detained by immigration officials and within two days, sent to Texas and then Honduras, the country she left at age 7.

“She’s absolutely heartbroken,” Pomerleau said. “Her college dream has just been shattered.”

It’s ironic that the “deport all illegals” crowd also thinks privilege doesn’t exist.   Doesn’t get much more privileged than having more rights simply based on where you were born.  A kid that was brought here by someone else when she was 7 years old didn’t do anything wrong in coming here.

And when she came here at the age of 7, I doubt she had any choice in the matter. She is going back to a country she really doesn't know. Assuming she would have graduated from college, she would probably be a productive member of this country.

They also can't fly without risk of being detained and/or deported.  But at least you admit that she knew she was an illegal alien.  I had heard she was well aware of the deportation order, but can't find the link.  All of the MSM links are about the poor 19 year old going to visit her family for Thanksgiving.  They don't seem to be reporting on why a 7 year old was given a deportation order by the Biden admin.

19 year old college students weren’t mentioned in the 2025 Homeland Security Threat Assessment, so this situation must be ignored.
