I Don't Know How Many Moves I Got Left In Me

Recommended Posts

Looks like we are heading back to the Vancouver, WA are around the end of February.  Just a little shy of two years in Japan.  Good enough.

So we picked up a rental in the town we were in before.  Our daughter has a bit over a year before she graduates high school.  Then, we'll just have the 1st grader, well she'll have finished 2nd grade by then.

But.... Maybe we move one more time.  I think it will be time to settle down.  Wherever we move to next, should be our we die here home.

We'll be married 25 years in November.  Moved sooo much.  I think we're done.  Don't know where we'll end up for sure.  But yeah...

Haha... Right?  I was done with our 17 year old daughter.  Got a vasectomy @ 40 as we were good with a boy and a girl.  A few guys will recall, 4 years ago now the State of North Dakota called.  Hey remember the youngest brother you have?  The one you are estranged from because he's an @sshole?  Yeah, he's going to prison.  He and his wife gave up custody to the State for their kids.  The two older ones went with their Mom's.  The youngest, your 2 year old niece, is going to go into the system.  You and your wife are the only fam worth a sh!t.

Soooo... Yeah we have a 6 yo little girl.

I'll try not to find any more to raise.  We'll see how it goes. 😄

Thanks bro... It will be good to get back to the States.  Love traveling abroad, but there's no place like home.

With home prices having gone through the roof since we moved into our current home, I don't see ever moving anywhere.

Yeah... It's about -$1500 to rent a house in our area for the same house.

Not to mention all the shiz that comes with home ownership.   But ya only live once I guess.

We may never buy again.  Owned 4 homes in 23 years ish.

We bought ours for $290,000, and the appraisal district had it valued at $550,000 which is baloney. We protested and managed to knock like $80,000 off that. It helped to have a realtor friend who provided us with a bunch of comps from recent sales.

It used to be the appraised value was way lower than the market value, now that has flipped.

Greedy ferks!

Yeah that whole appraisal thing... There seems to be a bit of fishiness to that entire process.  Love how they ask what the sales price is before they do their appraisal.

Yeah being early retired and able to tap into my TSP (.gov 401k) unfettered is nice.

That being said, it's still costing us $8,295 to move in.

$3,695 - 1st

$4,100 - deposit

$500 - pet fee for the bulldog.

Yea a good thing but still sucks throwing out that cash. Just get your family into Witness Protection and let the Gov, pay the bill! Again good luck and God Bless and moving always sucks.
