On last nights show, Greg Gutfeld brought up Richard Gere & the gerbil rumor.

Research says the rumor could have originated with Sylvester Stallone ?

 

Why ?

Richard Gere was originally cast in the 1974 film The Lords of Flatbush as Chico (later played by Perry King) but was fired early in production following intense friction with co-star Sylvester Stallone.

The clash stemmed from clashing acting styles, specifically during improv rehearsals, culminating in a lunch-break altercation involving spilt food and a physical confrontation. 

The Conflict: According to Stallone, Gere was difficult to work with, acting arrogant and getting too aggressive during a simulated fight scene.

The Incident: Reports indicate a final incident in a car during a lunch break, where Gere allegedly dripped chicken grease and mustard on Stallone, resulting in a fight that forced the director to choose between them.

The on-set feud is well-known in Hollywood lore, with Stallone noting that the incident left lingering tension between the 2 actors.

It’s funny. I remember that rumor but I thought it was high school kids being high school kids and spreading rumors - like Rod Stewart and jizz in his stomach. They were both around the same time.
