R8RMick 242 Posted August 1, 2017 He's going into his 4th year as the starter for the Jags, there better not be rust. He's not some old guy coming out of retirement or just returning from a serious injury. At what point does he start actually looking like a veteran, starting QB? When he starts looking like Derek Carr.
Hawkeye21 1,853 Posted August 2, 2017 When he starts looking like Derek Carr. Doesn't seem likely.

Eli Manning 19. Carson Palmer 20. Carson Wentz 21. Joe Flacco 22. Blake Bortles Like I said before, this list is constantly changing and will change more up until the season starts. thats better.. personally think Big Ben is too low and Luck is too high coming off a major inj... but that all can be debated
Hawkeye21 1,853 Posted August 2, 2017 My last list was a few weeks old. It's also based on how they would score in my league's settings so it could be slightly different for other leagues. I just updated all players projections Monday night and here are my current rankings now. I know some may feel some players are way out of place but many of them are pretty interchangeable and better to consider them just in a tier and not ranked. The players I have in bold I have all scoring within 5 points of each other so they could all be considered the 8th ranked QB if it makes anyone feel better. 1. Aaron Rodgers 2. Tom Brady 3. Drew Brees 4. Matt Ryan 5. Russell Wilson 6. Jameis Winston 7. Andrew Luck 8. Philip Rivers 9. Kirk Cousins 10. Derek Carr 11. Cam Newton 12. Marcus Mariota 13. Matthew Stafford 14. Andy Dalton 15. Ben Roethlisberger 16. Dak Prescott 17. Tyrod Taylor 18. Eli Manning 19. Carson Palmer 20. Carson Wentz 21. Blake Bortles 22. Joe Flacco 23. Ryan Tannehill
weepaws 2,460 Posted August 2, 2017 I like Winston above both Wilson and Ryan. I think he's going to be even better last year. Don't like the news about Luck maybe not even being ready to start week one. And I think Ryan won't have as good of a season he had last season. Hard for me to see him throwing 38 tds again. New OC new game plan has be worried about the Falcons and how they will play offence this season. Starting to wonder about Newton, I read his arm his sore. That's a problem for a big young QB like him.
Bier Meister 1,513 Posted August 2, 2017 for my rankings, bortles isn't much more than a bye filler. this article did not reallly sway me one way or the other. what it does make me think abour are his supporting skill players and what hit they may or may not take fournette, yeldin, ivory- more in the box? hurns, robinson, lee- i had hurns in a couple of leauges last year. started out ok, then later in the season virtually useless even when playing from behind (he did get some slop to save his stat line here and there) rivera, lewis just not a lot to get excited about
Hawkeye21 1,853 Posted August 18, 2017 I'm getting close to dropping Bortles even further because I'm not even sure he stays the starter all year. He looks like pure trash and hasn't been able to show he's improved at all over the years.
Super Cubs 132 Posted August 18, 2017 Roto - Jaguars to possibly cut Bortles this summer? just a rumor, but a good one

kilroy69 994 Posted August 19, 2017 Henne is not great. But he's always been better than bortles
Hawkeye21 1,853 Posted August 19, 2017 They might even be better off starting the 3rd stringer Allen. At least his passes looked good. Westbrook looked decent as well even though he dropped an easy TD.
Ray_T 591 Posted August 19, 2017 Henne is not great. But he's always been better than bortles Well, I'm not sure I'm buying that. Bortles had a sophomore year of 4400 yards passing. Last year he had 3800 or 3900 (I forget which and I"m too lazy to look it up) Henne is an adequate NFL QB but has never thrown for more than 3300 yards. If Bortles has regressed that far, the jags are in a lot of trouble.
