#6084266 Nascar Chase

Posted by Mike Honcho on 20 November 2017 - 05:38 PM

I do. I think JJ really benefited from 1) having the biggest team and best motors his entire career, and 2) being mentored by JG.

While Kyle has basically made the Toyota team what is. I think Gibbs switched from GM to Toyota the same year they signed Busch?

Kyle got his start in Nascar on Team Hendricks & was mentored by JG for 3 years.

He's talented no doubt.  Do you think he's more talented than JJ?

Jimmy Johnson is a football coach.

Jimmie Johnson is a NASCAR driver.

KB as far as putting down a fast lap is the best there is.

Johnson is the complete package.

KB = Brett Favre
Johnson = Brady

I think 90's came up with the perfect analogy.   KB does things in the car, saves and instinct that I haven't seen anybody else do...and he can do some head scratching things too.  That goes hand-in-hand with years and years of  immaturity, blaming crew chiefs, other drivers....JJ is as talented, but in different ways. He might not be able to do some of the extreme "Oh wow" moments, but he's just a better racecar driver than KB because he excels at every aspect needed to be great.

All-in-all, I'd probably take an in-his-prime Mario Andretti over either in equally prepared cars.

You could, but it's a Volvo, you'll just hurt the wall.

#6078423 Latest federal judge nominee

Posted by Mike Honcho on 14 November 2017 - 09:17 AM

Thanks, not a fan..  Lack of experience along with connections to White House staff.

Side note, I like my Federal judges old and crusty.  My personal opinion is, 36 is too young to be given any sort of lifetime appointment.

Senate should do it's job and deny his approval, problem solved.

NP, me I like my judges to as robotic and impartial as possible, right down the middle.

Even higher to me on than an amendment for term limits for congressman/senators, would be to change "lifetime" appointments.   Read an article that had suggestions for all the different courts, but it was SCOTUS I remember best, 18 years would be the term, and every 2 years the president would get to nominate a new judge to replace a retiring one.   Lifetime appointments was written into the Constitution when lifetime meant 60, maybe, not 85.  Just my 2 cents.

#6078010 Roy Moore (R) Alabamer - diddled a 14 year old girl ?

Oh, it's possible. The question is: would Sessions go along with it?

Based upon his actions to date, I doubt it. I think he would be kicking and screaming.

Just to be clear "Now I'm hearing that Trump may put Sessions back at his old spot."...you are saying that President Trump can appoint someone to US Senator?

#6077215 Thought provoking (racist) article from NY Times:

Posted by Mike Honcho on 12 November 2017 - 09:58 PM

I didn't read the article because I think we need to stop begging white people to love us.
Tell me how you experience racism.
I'll admit I'm wrong if you can list the ways in which blacks have prevented you from living somewhere or stopped you from getting a job or a loan or just your skin color alone makes you a suspect to the police. Tell me how your whiteness makes blacks think you're intellectually  inferior or sexually deviant. List the ways...

They automatically think I can't dance.   :(

#6077131 Used to call my folks on Sundays

Posted by Mike Honcho on 12 November 2017 - 09:06 PM

I dialed my Dad's phone number so many times after he died, was so used to talking to him that my fingers would start dialing before my brain could tell me, he wasn't there anymore. At 37 I had lost both my parents, I called at least once a week out of obligation, what I wouldn't give for one more call.

So before departing for Asia, President Trump was asked about the George Papadopoulos-Sessions foriegn policy meeting:

"I don't remember much about that meeting," Trump responded. "It was a very unimportant meeting, took place a long time [ago], don't remember much about it."

So much for:

"People don't understand, I went to an Ivy League college. I was a nice student," Trump said. "I did very well. I'm a very intelligent person."
Later, pointing to his head, he added: "One of the great memories of all time."

#6069164 Colin Kaepernick collusion case is heating up!

Posted by Mike Honcho on 03 November 2017 - 11:27 AM

The NFL just needs to admit they colluded, suspend Brady and make the Patriots lose a draft pick, end of story.
