Voltaire 4,570 Posted January 15, 2018 What do you think of this? Detroit media is convinced that Detroit has the best landing spot for any potential head coach (this was prior to the Tenn job opening up) and that ed's brother and Patricia had a great working relationship in NE. As far as me, I have no idea. I've been following the NFL at about 10% the normal rate and may well be checking out. The Lions have p*ssed me off and I've got a foot out the door. Seems to me to be as fine a pick as any but I'd have kept Caldwell.
Voltaire 4,570 Posted January 15, 2018 You are really sour compared to last year. Is that the vibe in the big D now? He's in Dallas not Detroit. Caldwell brought discipline to Detroit which is what the Lions were looking for when they fired Gym Shorts.

shotsup 832 Posted January 15, 2018 who cares what he looks like. McGoo looked like a retard, changed himself to look like a state trooper and he sucked ass. let Patricia look like a guy running a burger joint for all I care if im a giants fan. Just win games. BB isn't winning any fashion shows NE's D wasn't winning any awards. Has nothing to to do what he "looks like"

A guy who can lead a comeback. You've got Golden Tate, Marvin Jones (younger than people realize), Golladay, Ebron, Riddick, one of the better kickers in the league.... Im not sold on Abdullah but the defense has some pieces too. Ansah, Glover Quinn, Slay, Tahir whitehead, If I was sold on Lucks health, I could see Indy being more appealing The Giants, for all the mess they were this year do have a veteran QB and the #2 pick to use on his successor. think i'd still go the Lions route though if I was a HC with a choice. DelRio, Quinn. The shine is off Pete Carroll. Fisher for 100 years, Marvin Lewis.

Voltaire 4,570 Posted January 15, 2018 Volty Why do you refer to Josh McDaniels (presumably you are referring to JMD) as Ed's brother ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YB_t7xlXF8 I'm talking about Bob Quinn who came over from New England's front office. Not only does the Lions GM looks like Ed, he also grew up a local kid in Boston as a big time Patriots fan before landing a dream job in the front office of his favorite team where he climbed the front office ladder under Bellicheck, eventually becoming their head of scouting. When he speaks, he has a Boston accent like I presume Ed sounds like. In truth, Ed may sound more like Cliff Clavin or John Kerry for all I know. I just read him, I don't hear him. When I look at this guy and when I listen to him, I see and hear Ed. He resonates Ed-ness. By all reports, Patricia and Ed's brother got along very well in New England. Ray Handley went to Stanford and was barred from casinos for being a card counter and had tutelage under Bill Parcells. Wasn't very successful taking over a team that just won the superbowl. Cruzer 1,993 Posted January 16, 2018 You are really sour compared to last year. Is that the vibe in the big D now? There's still the Red cheer squad - but no question the disgust movement is growing.. I can't believe it has taken this long for some to wake up, but glad they finally are nonetheless.... My frustration hit new heights once it was clear Red was coming back.. 23 years since we've been in a Championship game - and the morons around here still think you do it with offense. Voltaire 4,570 Posted January 19, 2018 Wojo on the Lions beating out the Giants in an effort to woo Patricia http://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/columnists/bob-wojnowski/2018/01/17/wojo-lions-bob-quinn-cusp-game-changer/109559654/ They've brought the Pats head of scouting over to be GM, he in turn is brings the Pats Defensive Coordinator over as head coach. With an owner who doesn't give a fock about football, it's all Bellichek proteges in charge.

The best part is I have a Lions fan that works for me that was so happy when it was announced Patricia was going to the NYG. His exact words were, "Great, that guys defenses sucked. Why the fock would a team hire him to be their HC?". Now it's win/win for me. Either he sucks and I get to tease him, or he's awesome and I get to point out how wrong he was.
