Beyond Chaos 75 Posted November 12, 2017 I would say it's pretty remarkable if accurate. 750,000 protesters demand release of jailed Catalan separatists in Barcelona. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ug0QArN3snc

IMMensaMind 459 Posted November 12, 2017 Spain is a fiscal leftist hellhole on the same path as Greece. I don't blame Catalonans for their desire to separate. The totalitarians disagree.
fandandy 3,311 Posted November 12, 2017 Not to sidetrack but anyone following what's happening in Lebanon? Tons happening in Saudi as well and their King calls Lebanon's Prime Minister for a meeting and upon his arrival they basically put him under house arrest and force him to read a resignation letter. Saudi and Iran seem about ready to go to blows.

The most blatantly racist talk I've ever heard in real life was a Spanish tour guide talking about Catalonians as we were on a bus in Catalonia about 10 years ago. My wife and I were like Clearly there is no love between the two. I'd say it's time to part ways.

My wife and I were like Clearly there is no love between the two. I'd say it's time to part ways. You're right, of course. Naturally, however, the same leftists in Spain who have ruined their economy are the same ones whose raw desire for control is absolutely allergic to allowing a group which so fundamentally disagrees with their ideology any kind of freedom from it. Liberals: Ideas so good, they're mandatory. Catalonia needs to be its own country.

fandandy 3,311 Posted November 12, 2017 I thought I read that Saudi Arabia declared war on Lebanon a day or so ago. Hezbollah is saying that. They have a big presence in Lebanon, I think even in elected positions. A lot going on in the ME is strategic between Iran and Saudi. Yemen, Lebanon, etc. Yemen hardly gets any airtime here but that's a massacre. They are talking millions potentially dying from starvation due to Saudi Arabia embargo and we don't hear about it. wiffleball 4,640 Posted November 12, 2017 Not to mention all the happenings inside of Saudi Arabia. They basically rounded up a ton of the royal family and cut them off. Basically, they're seeing the day coming quickly where the oil revenues are not virtually unlimited and they're consolidating power.
RaiderHaters Revenge 3,584 Posted November 12, 2017 the latest Crown Prince is a progressive, so they have that going for them. Soon women will be driving, then voting, then expecting equal pay and eventually be all blue haired fat cows

I did see that the Sauds were meeting with the Israelis which doesn't happen often if ever before. Seems like they would be allies in a push against Iran. Israel seems to have a knack of getting others to fight their battles.
Beyond Chaos 75 Posted November 12, 2017 Tal-Aweed (one of the princes rounded up) was the one who trump called a "Dopey Prince" over twitter in a response to some tweet he had made. There's all kinds of conspiracy theories floating around him. I know he owned stakes in several large multi-nationals including Citigroup, Twitter, Newscorp, EuroDisney, also owned I think 1/2 the Four Seasons in Vegas with Bill Gates (which is the top 4 floors of the Mandalay Bay Hotel) among others. According to Wikipedia he contracted with the Bin Laden Group to build the Kingdom Tower (the world's tallest building). Also donated $10 million to New York after 9/11 which Guliani sent back. We live in scary times. There's prophecy in Isaiah 17 stating that Damascus will become a "ruinous heap." I don't think there is one specific with it being "by fire" but I could be wrong. It's interesting because it conveys total destruction and Damascus is the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world.
