well, in my keeper league I'm gonna have to make a choice in whether to keep him or not. its a 2 QB league so parting with a QB who is likely to be productive is not to be taken lightly. The injury itself doesnt concern me all that much. hes never been a mobile QB so as long as it does not affect his throwing motion and hes still able to move in the pocket the way he has in the past I dont see the injury affecting his production a ton. however I do think if I do keep him, this is likely the last year I'm keeping him. I have younger guys I could keep at this point so its not a lock that I keep him

meh, its something to talk about.

none of the college guys saw a pro defense. but JJ played behind a good line and the line in Minny isnt great (even though the receivers are) . so there will be an adjustment there for sure. I am hoping his penchant for quick decision making will make up for a lot of that deficiency but that may be a tall order for a rookie. for that reason they may sit him a while before starting him Cousins was productive as a passer. team didnt win a ton but that was not because of the offense. The team had other problems. Throwing the football was not one of them til Cousins got hurt. I think the Falcons have a decent chance to make the playoffs. Cousins always has been a regular season darling. His problem is he doesnt seem to be able to perform in the playoffs. so despite other issues elsewhere in the lineup, the team in my opinion has a decent shot to make the playoffs, but I'd be surprised if they go anywhere after that. if it sounds to you like I'm a cousins fan, I assure you I am not. guy is arrogant and comes off as a bit of a . but he does produce as a QB in the regular season and produces well. Hes also(historically) piss poor come playoff time. I call em as I see em regardless of my feeling about the guy.

This is probably a fair comment but it wouldnt just apply to him. Any QB in the NFL who cant produce with those guys isnt a starter. hes a backup.

I'd probably grab one more QB. god knows you have the draft capital. Rodgers is likely in his last year, wilson doesnt have much tread on the tires either. Minshew isnt an ideal backup. might as well take the top 3 WR's like you planned, take the top QB on the board and the top RB. You will still likely be able to get another RB in round 2. people will still be scrambling to take QB's and WRs up til that point. even if you dont feel you need a QB if the QB turns into a player you can sell him off in a year for far more than a first round pick. or if hes better than Richardson, then you sell off Richardson. or just keep both so nobody else can have them. thats a legit option

I'm assuming you are already good at QB. but with Harrison and Nabers as well as Rome, you will be set at WR for a long time even if we go on the assumption one of them will be a dud. might as well grab two RB's. though if you are not totally good at QB you can grab one of them too. Never hurts to have a top QB waiting in the wings to take over from the guy you have now. especially if you play with a salary cap.

well, you also need to keep in mind the teams he was on. he was on an absolutely terrible jets team when he started. at that time the stats his first 2 years were somewhat promising for a young player, but he never took the next step. then he was on a terrible Carolina team and was a backup in San fran for a year where he likely got some good coaching (perhaps for the first time in his pro career) but very little actual playing time. Without a doubt this team he is on has so much more talent than any of the previous teams he played significant time with it is silly to even compare. San fran may be comparable, but as a backup we never really got to see what he could do there. That said, when there is a young, top rookie waiting in the wings, he wont get much time to prove himself. but it is a chance to see what he can do with actual talent around him. what we dont know is if they plug the rookie in on day one or if Darnold plays a handful of games before they plug the rookie in. I guess we will find out in training camp. If they dont feel like McCarthy is ready on week one, the bye week is the natural place to look at throwing him into the fire. (depending on where in the season the bye falls) of course, Darnold might be able to earn himself playing time if he plays exceptionally well in that offense. personally I think he lasts 6 weeks tops, but it is possible that the year in san fran could have matured him some and the fresh perspective could be good for his on field production. I'm not saying this is the most likely scenario. just saying its possible.

how the hell do you end up with all of the top 5 picks? did you do a full sell off?

    Dynasty?

I'd guess anywhere from pick 8 to pick 15. thats the range but thats just a guess. There is always someone who will think one RB has landed in a perfect spot and will take one of them in round 1 whether he deserves to go or not. but honestly if you are RB needy there are about 4 backs who could develop into starters. if you had 2 picks in the first half round 2 you could likely get 2 of them while I wouldnt trade out of a top 8 pick in this draft as the QB talent and the WR talent is tough to ignore, but if you were RB needy and sitting in the 10 to 12 range I'd talk to someone about trading down a couple of spots and then try to go RB-RB in the first half of round 2. you may have to trade up if you have a pick in the late stages of round 2 (or you could wait and hope to get lucky)

    Dynasty Rookie RBs

I hear you. hes got good skill too but misses some time. for some reason I thought he was a smallish back but hes 5'11 and 210 lbs. so not terribly smallish. but yeah when healthy hes been decent not sure what happened here in Carolina. I guess he went from a good line in Philly to a mediocre one (or worse) in Carolina. That never helps the stats. either way, if the rookie cant beat out him or Chubba, he likely doesnt deserve the starting job anyhow.

further to this, pass pro is mostly learned. so this is coachable. I guess the only question is how quick does he learn it.

ok sorry I must have got my players mixed up (we were talking about 2 players) terribly sorry. Lloyd, , Allen and to a lesser degree brooks had ball security issue. I must have accidentally clicked on the wrong profile my bad. but Pass Pro leaves a lot to be desired for him.

What’s your rookie WR board looking like?

I fully agree. I still think it will be better than it was, but at this stage of a retooling there is bound to be some growing pains. its tough to avoid that.

What’s your rookie WR board looking like?

yeah the pats Defense was decent. If I was in charge I wouldnt want to do much in the way of changes there. the numbers for the D dont look as good but thats a function of the offense not being able to stay on the field. eventually short fields and all the time spent on the field wears on them and the D gets tired. An offense that can move the ball and sustain some drives would make all the difference in the world to this team.

What’s your rookie WR board looking like?

yeah, I think hes one of those guys who you put on your watch list. and pick him up if he starts getting the looks. I cant see him being rostered anywhere other than a dynasty format where teams draft and keep rookies. Granted things can and do often change. hes a player of interest for me, but I dont know that I'd take the plunge to draft him unless something changes in KC (ie. starter gets hurt or something)
