I'm sure the contract situations will play a large part. chubba is signed 33 mil over 4 years. so if they want to go with Rico, they need to find someone who will take that contract. its not like they can just walk from a contract like that. it will cost them. so depending on what Rico is demanding, this may be about money when it comes time to re sign in the interim, while Rico has (on average) been better, Chubba is also the incumbent. some coaches firmly believe that a player shouldnt lose their job due to a short term injury so its not a given they hand it to Rico. from what I've seen it looks like they are making this into a competition of sorts. so both players are essentially fighting for this job. until the team is decided on who is the better player for them, this could very well be a committee. possibly for the rest of the season. I know a lot of you are wanting to hand this job to Rico based on the big games. but that is rarely the way these things work. you also dont see what goes on in practice and how the players get along with their teammates etc. so there is a bit more to it than JUST this. thats the takeaway. it may seem clear cut to a lot of us, but it may not be to them

I think all the rookie contracts have i ncentives in there. and if 1000 yards is one of them (pretty sure it would be) then he will play when he is able. the only way he doesnt is if the team tells him they will pay it out anyway. Even then. for some players that 1000 yard mark is a badge of pride. he likely wants to hit it anyway

true but Dowdles huge performances were against terrible Run Defenses. at the time the boys and the phins were getting absolutely GASHED on the ground. its the RB who performs against a good D that makes the difference to the bottom line. since those two games its been meh. one solid game vs Green Bay and the rest less than 80 yards and YPC varied some. but he had some reasonably ineffective games in there. Chubba admittedly hasnt been much better. last year he was a volume based fantasy player and he was ok. but we are in a situation where this could easily be a timeshare where they go with the hot hand. only thing Rico has going for him is those 2 amazing games. but arguably nobody was gameplanning for him. now that defenses are aware of what he does, they have adapted and his stats are now more in line with Chubbas.

in my league you get 3 points for all FG but if the FG is more than 50 you get 6 points. its a bit overvalued but those long ball kickers become valuable in this format. I'm sure each league has their own rules but I am thinking if its over 50 you get 4 points and over 60 you get 6 points.

yes, thats why they are calling him a Diva. more interested in their own stats and interests than that of the team. dont get me wrong, players like that can be useful but they tend to wear out their welcome over time.

agreed. you cant cut him. I got him in round 1 of a redraft league I was in. worked well early in the year but not so good since. once AJ started complaining about his lack of use in the offense its like the offense tried to flip back to a gameplan that throws the ball more and Sequon has sort of been the forgotten man to some extent. I do think once the chips are down it will be the run game once again. but that wont help us for fantasy.

well, I'm not surprised about Kelce. Look at how old the guy is. historically most TE dont play this late into their career. Most are done by the age of 30. a handful play to 31 or 32. dude has had the longest career for a TE in history with the possible exception of Tony Gonzalez hes earned the right to slow down a bit.

you are not wrong. The bears clearly won the battle at the Line of Scrimmage today. and thats a battle the Eagles normally win. That was the story of the day (in my opinion) given how bad the bears O line was last year, I'm a bit surprised they have been this good. I know they made moves, and drafted players, but those moves dont usually pan out this quickly. its usually like a 2 year process to turn things around to this extent. and thats assuming the team knows what they are doing. (not always a good assumption)

Barkley was plenty good last year. even if he craps the bed from here on out, it was still a good move for philly. they got a SB out of it.

While it does look like the bears are protecting Caleb somewhat with conservative play calling, I dont mind that. at the end of the day, Caleb wasnt awesome but he was good when he needed to be. and in a matchup against a good team like the Eagles, that means a lot. even if the game wasnt all that good statistically.

the real story is the Bears O line dominated. Thats hard to do against Philly. most games philly wins the LOS battle and they lost it today. clearly when the dont win that battle they struggle and it showed today.

well, this was a pretty good litmus test for the bears. I know it wasnt pretty for Caleb but he also found a way to win. Philly is a good team and the bears found a way to beat them.

well, it looks like the bears are dominating the LOS battle. (at least a lot of the time) thats not everything, but it sure is a significant advantage.
