Anyone down for a mock draft?

Recommended Posts

I'd like to organize a non official mock draft with some forum peeps to just get an early read on my strategy and see how the players are falling.

I don't want to do a slow draft here but I propose a group of at least 6 of us pick a time and all enter the same FFC draft room.

Enter whatever position you want, draft a team and then maybe we can discuss our strategy a little bit. It we can get a full 12 that would be great. There's always the possibility of a random jumping in at this point but its not too crowded over there yet.

Anyone down?

I'd propose a weeknight say Tuesday at 9 PM est or something.

Sounds like a good plan...any particular format? Multiple mocks w/ diff settings?

The formats offered by FFC are Standard Format or PPR,RB/WR Flex

I'm game for either but lean towards the PPR flex side as most of my leagues incorporate .5 PPR or more.

If anyone isn't familiar with the site:

I'd be down. I've been on that site pretty much daily for the past week haha

My leagues are standard and flex, which sucks that they don't have that option. Can we do multiple drafts to incorporate our leagues keepers some how? haha

I'd be down to do one mock to post the results here for the board to check out and use. I'd also be down to do a live slow draft in a dedicated thread as long as those not involved keep the thread free of clutter.

I don't ser myself doing several ffc mocks of various sizes, scoring systems, people keepers etc etc. Just don't have the time to commit to that

Maybe a slow draft is the way to go. It might be tough to get everyone to commit to a certain time for a live FFC one.

Are you guys up for a slow draft?

My only wish is that we make it a fast slow draft.

Here is my proposed lineup and scoring for a slow draft.

QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, Flex (WR, RB, TE), D, K

Either 4-6 points passing tds...I'm good with either .5 PPR

If you would like to be in the slow draft simply copy and paste this and choose a position.

First come first serve.

Then once we have 12 we can start a new thread and get it going.

I hadn't expressed interest but since it's a slow draft, I'll go. It'll be good exercise so I can force myself to organize and think about things now then revisit my thoughts later after all the mock draft ADPs kick in.

Spots are going quick. I'd like to honor Green TD and Ralphsters initial requests if they still want in.

Grab a spot if the slow draft appeals to you.

Time for the "Hey! You! Get over here!" phase to kick in. Looking at you, Matt, to make it happen.

Where's chcougar? That's the place to start since he was interested earlier in the thread.

3 slots left. I'll switch into a different slot if anyone else wants 4.

I'd like to see 4 pt passing TDs as I believe that's the most popular setting. 1/2 point ppr is fine. Starting lineups are fine too. 15 rounds? Is this for redraft or dynasty?

I'm fine with 4 points passing tds. I'd like to keep the .5 PPR as a balance between standard and PPR. 15 rounds would be great. I def have the motivation to see it through. Does everyone else? :)

Let's do redraft as that's the focus of the board here.

Once we get rolling I woulf suggest making one thread for selections and one for commentary.

No need to make a new thread for each round I don't think. Initial post can be updated to reflect the ongoing selections

I am in for these parameters. Sounds solid to me.

What kind of clock are we going to work with for it though?

I'd put a 10+ hour clock on it. Chances are we will have picks go off in bunches and then longer pauses. I don't think we will need anything like an hour clock

I'm fine with this premise too. Odds are good we'll knock out early rounds pretty fast anyway.

Also agree with one thread for the mock and another for commentary. Draft thread can be updated by Matt as picks come in/time allows. Trash talking can then roll in the commentary thread and avoid cluttering the draft thread.

I'll take #10 if it isn't already taken. Won't be able to start until tomorrow. Should be consistently reliable throughout the weekend/week, though.

Hey fellas are we using fantasy football calculator ?

We decided on a slow draft here on the boards. I would certainly be up for a FFC one at some point as well, but I figured it might be easier to organize a slow one here than get everyone to commit to a set date and time...let alone find 12 open spaces on FFC.

I created 2 separate threads for the slow draft.

1.01 is on the clock!
