NAn 39 Posted August 21, 2003 as time is growing ever short, i'm really not looking for alot(ok, any)discussion. just a vote 'yea or nea'...we can always revisit in future offseasons. VOTE 1: MINIMUM # OF KEEPERS remember there is NO MAXIMUM on keepers, each owner can keep as many as they want. this vote is only for MINIMUM # OF KEEPERS. choices are simple 0 or 1 or 2. VOTE 2: TRADING OF FUTURE DRAFT PICKS can we trade player/s we have in a given year for future draft picks? VOTE 3: REGARDLESS OF TRADE/S, PLAYERS ARE HELD TO 'ORIGINAL' DRAFT PICK this is more a confirmation than a vote but thought it should be addressed. say i trade marcus allen(my 11th rnd pick) for walter payton(his 7th rnd pick)...i decide at end of year i want to keep payton. i can't say "well i traded my 11th rnder for payton so he should only cost me an 8th rnder next year."(instead of a 4th...based on payton's original position of 7th) kinda dumb, now that i think about it, but ambiguous stuff like this causes controversy in leagues all the time. voting open till this coming monday aug.25th at 9pm PST...if you don't vote i'm assuming it doesn't matter to you. Walter34 3 Posted August 21, 2003 1. 2 (prefer 3 or even 5 ya bunch of fraidy cats) 2. Yes, allow trading of future picks, but only next years 3. Yes, player are held to their original pick. In some cases, you may trade for a player and have 2 10th round players. If you wish to keep them both, they would cost you a 6th and 7th the next season. Understand this last point? Guest Cyric29 Posted August 21, 2003 1-0---since I haven't been persuaded why If I draft well, would I care if someone has 0 or 10 keepers. 2-Yes...only one years. Not sure who will keep track of this. 3.Held to orginal pick position. In the thread we were discussing minimums...I had a couple of questions, if a pro-minimun person could take a look. I haven't played in a keeper before...I'll vote then.
Proteus71 0 Posted August 21, 2003 1. 2 2. No. There's nothing to stop a player from trading his entire draft (money etc) than quitting the league, otherwise I would vote yes. 3. Held to original position
Stinkybob 0 Posted August 21, 2003 1. 1 2. Yes, but you can only offer picks that are in next years draft. 3. Held to original position

Walter34 3 Posted August 21, 2003 I dont see the point in it being a keeper league if you dont have to keep anybody. good drafting, good keepers. bad drafting, bad keepers. That's the way it goes. Anyway, continue ...

I SAID NO DISCUSSION DAMMITT! wink seriously walt, my feeling is w/the opportunity to grab real sleepers w/potential late at the cost of just a 10th/12th/15th next year, MOST of us will end up keeping folks. BUT i really don't want to be held to it. like others have said: you keep 5 guys, then you start off w/nice base next year...i keep none, well that's my choice and i'll have to start from scratch next year. bob_probert_2000 1 Posted August 25, 2003 I think we should keep at least 2 players..it prevents teams from selling the fort before next season knowing they will get them back. Yes you can trade picks, see point one. Yes to the last point. it can work in your favor too if played correctly.
