SUXBNME 1,606 Posted March 19, 2006 O.J. and Barry !!! Carruth might be a little hard to sign for awhile... Come to think of it, why is Barry included in the same line as O.J. ? The Juice should have gotten the Juice..(i.e. old sparky) While Barry is just "on the juice"....allegedly
Vince44 208 Posted March 19, 2006 I don't think you can lump him with those 3, that is just absurd. Eagles fans were kissing TO's ass two years ago.... TO is my hero, he helped take apart my two most hated teams in sports, but that stuff won't happen in Dallas. Parcells isn't a pushover like Reid/Mooch, he has rings and respect of his players, unlike those two.
dcOne 2 Posted March 19, 2006 Ya gotta remember this---->Everyone, except Dallas fans, want Dallas to fail. So no matter what they do, everone is going to say how "negative" it is for Dallas. It's a combination of "sour grapes" attitude, and "wishing failure" upon Dallas by yapping how the T.O move was such a bad one. Then, there is the "denial" stage, in which those same individuals will deny the above two reasons hold no merit.

Jwood 0 Posted March 19, 2006 bitter eagles fan. Owens single handedly took the Eagles to the Super Bowl and even with a spectacular performance by him, the Iggles still couldn't win a Super Bowl.
DrJ 0 Posted March 19, 2006 Owens single handedly took the Eagles to the Super Bowl Agreed. His 0 catches for 0 yards and 0 TD's was a pretty big factor in both NFC playoff games.
Eagles Green 34 Posted March 20, 2006 Agreed. His 0 catches for 0 yards and 0 TD's was a pretty big factor in both NFC playoff games. TO never won a playoff game as an Eagles 0/1.

LunaTick 30 Posted March 20, 2006 IF TO single handedly can take a team to the SB Answer me this, how come the 49er dynasty did not continue. That is cause it takes a team to do this. Now this said, Eagles attempted to take a short cut when they signed TO. I am sure they thought they would be in place for a couple of solid runs and have an opportunity to add talent if TO was satisfied. But their hope failed them. As for this list, I chuckle at the implied intent. But I agree that TO does not fit with OJ/Carruth. Nor does Barry quite fit this either. Meshawn is a better fit. It has to be someone that is both productive, a major distraction, a big pain in the rear, and full of self love like no other.
cowboyz 2 Posted March 20, 2006 i guess you gotta make a thread about the cowboys, otherwise your thread title would be: Eagles sign Darnerien McCants and now add Jabar Gaffney, Matt Schobel, and Jeff Garcia. nice to know from your pocketbook to jeffrey lurie's
Vince44 208 Posted March 20, 2006 Yeah, but look at the two teams they beat, not exactly the Boys, Niners, or Pack of the mid 90's. I kinda see why Owens grew sick of the Eagles, the guy comes in and dominates from Day one and was your best player that year, you get to the playoffs and it's.."We can win without him, we got here three times before without him". The funny thing is your past teams never stomped on other teams throats in the reg season the way you did that year, and it was because of Owens. The days of the Eagles winning with the likes of Charles Johnson, James Thrash, and Todd Pinkston are so over. I hope that lard ass Reid thinks he can plug in a bunch of #3 WR's and except the same results like he had in 00-03 when Mcnabb didn't have so much wear and tear on him and your defense was top notch. I totally agree. When TO got hurt, the rest of the team should have said, "Fock it, without TO we're done. We may as well go home and get our golf clubs ready." TO blew that out of proportion because he is mildly retarded. HTH

Vince44 208 Posted March 20, 2006 Yeah well, it was still pretty weak to just dismiss his impact on the team that year, by saying we got here before without him. I mean, if not for him the Pats crush you by 3 TD's but then Mcnabb wouldn't have been exposed as a choker who couldn't even get his team up to the line on two good legs while Owens carried the offense on a bad one. I do think the Cowbays have a shot at drafting Marcus Vick as their QB of the future. Broncos or any other team signs him, it's "Denver signs T.O" end of story. Dallas signs him, it's "Dallas signs T.O.", followed by "I bet he causes disruptions", "I hope he fails...." blah, blah, blah. No matter who signed him? So you think what Dallas does isn't magnified by the media, fans of other teams etc? Hmmm. Where you been the last 20 years?

Guest stevejohnson Posted March 20, 2006 I am an Eagles season ticket holder who hates T.O. but comparing him to a convicted murderer, a known murder, and a steroid cheat is a bit over board! T.O. is a jerk and quite possibily mentally ill (fits the DSM bi-polar and borderline personality disorder profile pretty well) but he has never broken the law, used drugs, etc.... As a team the Eagles made to many mistakes in that game. But uh, give some credit to the Patriots at least. They didn't win three SB's for nothing.
phillybear 366 Posted March 20, 2006 Cowboys sign T.O. and now look to sign, Barry Bonds, OJ Simpson, and Rae Carruth. You should add Donovan McNabb to the list too. He has been stealing money for years.

You're right, it was amazing how TO lined up on the defense and prevented those 3TD's, and also how he hiked the ball to himself.
hoffdaddy 1 Posted March 20, 2006 It's a sad, sad commentary when a guy as talented as TO is lumped in with murders and drug users. TO has never been accused of juicing. TO has never killed anyone. TO has never had anyone killed. TO's only problem is that he has a big ego. That's it. The guy is super talented, works his ass off, and gives maximum effort. I find it interesting that ND Kalu came out and said that 90% of the Eagle team had no problem with TO. So who's wrong about him?
Cruzer 1,996 Posted March 20, 2006 Put me with those that doesn't understand lumping TO with the rest of those clowns - that's just stupid.
Eagles Green 34 Posted March 20, 2006 You should add Donovan McNabb to the list too. He has been stealing money for years. Yeah, he's terrible. How many QBs have thrown 30 TDs and under 10 ints in a season? Clue: Only one, and it wasn't Matt Hasslebald "We want the ball and we're gonna score." Um....no, you're gonna blow it. Don't be one of those tools that roots against the home team just to be a d!ck.

Your sarcasm meter is broken. Also, Hasselbeck and McNabb have the same number of Super Bowl appearances. And Hasselbeck looked much, much more impressive in the playoffs the last couple of years than McNabb. In that Hasselbeck carried his team on his back in almost every playoff game, keeping Seattle in games. McNabb pretty much did the opposite. To each, his own, and that's another thread. I am mostly indifferent to the Eagles and I have been a Seattle fan since the 70's. It's as simple as that.
