onejayhawk 3 Posted April 29, 2006 Chiefs Oh wait, Vermeil's gone. Chiefs Lets see if this crew can do a better draft. The front office managed to get off with just a second day pick, so its gone well so far. KC is not well positioned at 20. Most of the DB's should go lower, and the only DE with size, Tamba Hali, is really a 2nd round talent, so 20 would be a big reach. The only part of the defense that really played well last year were the LB's which is a strength in this draft, but more for the 3-4 style. If a DT or Jimmy Williams should slide past #12, then I would consider trading up. Otherwise a trade down makes more sense. Tentative prediction. If at 20, a CB Hill, Marshall or Cromartie, with Santonio Holmes being an outside chance. If there is a trade down, any of those, and several other DB's, Whitner, Allen, etc, Hali, Chad Jackson, or OL, Mangold, Joseph, Chester. J

Fumbleweed 547 Posted April 29, 2006 On second thought, why pick a WR...... I mean you've Eddie Kennison as your #1 WR.....who could ask for more??
Walter34 3 Posted April 29, 2006 Hali is a nice story that they have been playing. Strange that they left mom back home.
whoisjgalt 0 Posted April 29, 2006 Hali is a nice story that they have been playing. Strange that they left mom back home. Mom and Dad aren't married - they mentioned that this had something to do with her being unable to get over here.
Thin Spirit 0 Posted April 29, 2006 Hali is a nice story, but he is gonna be a dud. They have needed a WR for years now, yet they keep ignoring it?!

cmh6476 1,025 Posted April 30, 2006 Brodie Croyle as the QBOTF, and a safety to push knight and wesley. I like what I'm seeing so far, but we still need to address CB, WR and backup line
onejayhawk 3 Posted April 30, 2006 Not horrible, but I hoped for better. Last to first. Croyle is at value in the third. He's a bit short, and has had serious injury problems, but was one of the better arms in NCAA football last year. Good leadership skills, and very steady. Will not beat himself. Stiff and immobile. Very old school pocket passer. Pollard is a beast in run support, but does not look rela instinctive. More like a deep LB. He's going to come out in coverage packages. Hali is the only DE with any size except the #1 pick. Strong character guy, like the old Gunny defenses of the 1990's. He has very good feet, which is common amoung guys who grow up playing soccer. Like the pick before him, Cromartie, this is a dice roll, but All Pro potential is there. Driven, but very inexperiencedd. It depends on whether he grows into the position, or stays stiff. He's a good athlete, which should mean he will play the run well, but the pass rush is unknown. Good boookend for Hall. If Hali plays this year and starts next, this will be a good draft. Pollard is an enforcer at SS, and he should fit in well, allowing the OLB's to blitz more. Croyle is all or nothing. He lacks the NFL body, but the arm and mental side is there.
