cmh6476 1,025 Posted May 2, 2006 of when my brother passed away. Doesnt even seem like its been 2 years. You know, I know he's with me, guiding me through life, but my life has changed so much and so many things have happenned, and I just wish he were still here to be part of that physically with me. Bought a house, had a kid, got married. It's selfish, but I just wish he were here to share some of the things I have done here with me. I know some of you aint gonna buy into any of this, but I dont really care, I'm not here posting it cause I'm trying to get you to buy-in. But my mom went to a psychic last month and got a reading, and it was recorded and everything in the reading was spot-on. And there's no possible way this lady could have researched some of this stuff she was saying, hell some of it were things my mom and step-dad had discussed but had never even shared with me, let alone some random psychic. Anyways, she's going back in August and I think I'm gonna go with her to see if I can connect with Tom. It just pains me so much watching my little girl grow up while Uncle Tom isn't physically able to be part of her life. That has to be the hardest thing through all of this. I'm sorry, not trying to bring everyone down. I know my brother is still with me, he's given me numerous signs to emphasize this. And I know he's in a much better place now. I know how many people's lives Tom has affected for the better, and he accomplished what it was he was setout to do. I just have to go on living my life for as long as I'm suppossed to be here without him, which sucks the most of all. We're all goin to my mom's tonight, and I invited over a ton of our friends, my mom's gonna make beefburgers for everyone. I asked everyone to bring something that reminded them of him, and then we'd go around the room and all share a special story or memory about Tommy. I think mine's gonna be about the 1st time he got drunk. I was probably a soph or jr in high school, or it could have been the summer in-between. Which would have landed Tom somewhere between 7th and 8th grades I always included my brother in everything I did, of course maybe this time I shouldnt have. But we both went out with 2 of my buddies from high school. I think I "borrowed" a bottle of either Peppermint or Cinammon Schnapps from the restaurant I worked at. We started drinking it, and then my two friends kinda dared my brother to finish what was probably 1/4 - 1/2 of a fifth. Well, not one to backdown from a challenge, the focker killed it. We pulled over in some gravel parking lot to p!ss, and my brother while he is p!ssing falls face forward into the gravel We got the poor kid home that night, and he started puking up red all over the place. My mom was so p!ssed at me, I think I took off and slept in my car for a couple days. So tonight I think I'm gonna go out and buy a bottle of cinammon schnapp's, and share that story with the group. I miss the guy so much. I hope none of you have to go through life living without your best friend.

Don't waste your money meh, my mom is paying for it, she's going back for a 2nd reading. This psychic is booked up for like a year, but she offered to do my mom again in August after her reading last month. I guess maybe because they connected so well anyways, she gets to take someone with her, and next time I think I'm gonna be that person. I'll be sure and let you guys know how it goes I didn't even know about your brother. Sorry to hear about that. You guys are doing the right thing in remembering the good things. You need to be able to laugh at times like that. yeah, this place really came through for me during that time. I still have the original thread I started that day with everyones thoughts, concerns and prayers printed off and stowed away.

It dosen't work for everybody, but there is a song by Kenny Chesney called "Who you'd be today" that reminds me of a friend I lost as well. It just kinda puts me in a cool place. Sorry for the loss. But hang in there my mom knows the story all to well. Besides the parents, it'll just be all our friends. I bet we have 50 people at the house tonight. I told everyone to bring some beers, and I'm gonna bring some cinnamon schnapps for anyone that wants to take a shot. They'll enjoy the story and accept the fact that I corrupted my brother way too young

cmh6476 1,025 Posted May 2, 2006 no offense but having a party with a bunch of booze to celebrate the life of your bro who died because of booze seems a little twisted to me. alcohol didnt kill my brother, it was a combination of many different toxins in his body. But what's it matter anyways? Alcohol is not the evil, the evil is how you consume the alcohol. Times like these are hard, and downing some brews in the process help relieve some of the anguish and sorrow that you find taking over all other emotions. Tonight is a celebration with all the good people in our lives, who loved and cared about tommy just as much as we do. There's nothing to be angry about, nothing to do now to rectify the situation, and nothing labeling something in this world taboo is going to make better. cmh6476 1,025 Posted May 2, 2006 Didn't want to say it, but I agree You're all free to say anything you want. You can be crass, shallow, inconsiderate, offensive... Doesn't bother me. You don't have to pity me, or feel sorry for me. I'm going to be fine in this life, and the next or wherever it is I end up going or whatever it is I find myself doing. Your anonymous typings on an internet message board will not bother me, I promise. I have endured more pain through this loss than any possible words would ever do to me. My philosophy is I'm not going to answer to you, or anyone else here for that matter. At least I hope not, and even if that is the case I'm probably focked from the get-go. So you're free to do what you want, say what you want, type what you want, think what you want to think, etc. I'll just go through my life the same as I would have otherwise, doin what I got to do to make the best out of every situation. Jeremy 0 Posted May 2, 2006 You should celebrate however you feel appropriate. I really wasn't trying to offend you. It just seems a little weird to me. I have to admit, his worship of alcohol is a bit puzzling if indeed alcohol was involved in his brother's death. You would think that would be a wake up call of sorts. It took a lot less than that to put me off alcohol forever. But anyway, thoughts and prayers on this difficult day. It's cool that you're getting together to celebrate his life and enjoy the memories.
shovelheadt 71 Posted May 2, 2006 I know he's with me, guiding me through life Do you really believe that? I'm betting he wouldn't want you consuming so much alcohol. Sooner or later, you'll realize what a waste of time, money and body it is getting buzzed as often as you do. With the rigors of a family life, your body will start wearing down quicker and that beer won't sound as good anymore...hopefully.
cmh6476 1,025 Posted May 2, 2006 his worship of alcohol I have to admit, that my "worship" of alcohol was more of a "minimal commitments let's live-it-up" attitude when I wasn't married and had no kids. Completely different ballgame all-together now, and my drinking has gone from about 4-6 days a week down to maybe 1 or two if I'm lucky Do you really believe that? But to answer your question, it's not a question of whether or not my brother is still with me each and every day. I have been given numerous signs from my brother, reassuring me he is with me constantly.

Seriously Chad, we feel for your loss, but show some judgment. There must be some story to better memorialize your brother than that time he got commode-huggin' drunk in the eighth grade. That's all I have to say about that.
TD Ryan2 316 Posted May 2, 2006 So your mom goes to psychics? And now you're going? hmmmm. you know... I'll defend him on this one. It's a bit out there, but then again, so isn't the whole idea of losing a child or brother at such a young age. I don't believe in the psychic (Ms. Cleo) stuff, but I do believe that it helps people cope with their loss. With something THAT tragic, if something as harmless as a psychic helps you overcome your grief or somehow come to grips with things it's OK by me.
