I visited Dallas, September 1995 and it was so focking hot I melted.

I don't think I could live there year round. Doubt there are many tech companies for me to find a job at.

Have you ever looked in NY, Boston, LA, San Fran??? You couldn't buy a 1/4 acre lot for 340,000

Hardly

Yeah, if you like sky-high prices for everything, horrific traffic, a populace with the personality of particle board and elected officials who like to vigorously suck cack at rest stops, bath houses and wherever they can get some while their loyal family remains unaware.

Nothing much of anything interesting has ever come out of New Jersey.

:first:

Actually, I really liked the Austin area.....is that anywhere near you?

It's about a three-hour drive.

I've never cared much for Dallas. It tries too hard to be like Los Angeles, and they have the most fairweather sports fans ever. Houston is OK, but it takes a while to get to know it. Fort Worth is pretty cool. El Passgas might as well be part of Mexico as far as most of Texas cares.

Austin is the kick-ass. San Antonio is great, too, and you can't beat anything in the Hill Country. Austin sits on the eastern edge of that.

After it is all said and done (taxes, P&I, insurance), your monthly payment is usually about 1% of your price.
