football_scooter 0 Posted June 16, 2006 And I will add that while there may still be other elite TEs left, there were just too many picks between 5.04 and 6.09 for me to risk not getting one that I liked as a solid contributor. While I firmly believe that as many as 80% of the upside guys will produce, I would rather have one I am more confident in. I was tempted to take another TE here, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't justify passing up TGonz.
Clash of the Titans 1 Posted June 16, 2006 okay before i pick ...what are we going to do about sweetness34...i am actually shocked it made it back to me this fast...can someone step in or are we going to skip him again...i don't understand if he knew he was moving why he couldn't have sent a predraft list to someone...i would have taken it...your call matisse...i can stall to give him time to check in tomorrow without being skipped...i have until 11 2nite to pick
football_scooter 0 Posted June 16, 2006 My $.02 Life is full of crap we all have to do and it is only June 16th. I would personally prefer that no one gets skipped, or is arbitrarily picked for - if Sweetness specified that he had a delegate to pick for him, that's one thing. Us going out and assigning him one could have dramatic implications, considering the drama we've had in here already. lol I think we should be able to make up for any lost time by scheduling a Sunday here, and a Saturday there (with a weeknight thrown in for giggles) where we're all online and can knock out a round or two at a time, thus making up for lost time. So I sugest Clash picks, and we just wait for Sweetness, as painful as that might be. We're all eager to get this rolling, but we do have 2 months to get through 14.5 more rounds - shouldn't be too hard. One man's $.02 on the matter.

jocstrap 8 Posted June 16, 2006 I can wait no problem here - just anxious ! Have fun moving sweetness. I will be able to check the boards often so if it does move I'll be ready. Going bike riding with my 5 yr old son!
Grateful Parrot 0 Posted June 16, 2006 I would have like to finish this by Wednesday morning before flying out, but it's cool, as long as we're patient with everybody. I checked today and they have high speed in our hotel room (for freaking 9.95 a day) so I could check once an a while to see when I'm up. When I get there, I'll see if they have a hookup down in the lobby for free. I don't want to pay per day, cause I really don't plan on spending a whole lot of time in the hotel room. oldguru 0 Posted June 16, 2006 I would be available if someone wanted to send me a pre-draft list in the order they want the players taken. I would not feel comfortable making a pick for someone based on my values, but... I could sure make their pick for them while they were away from the computer. I would be glad to help if I could, since I am an unbiased spectator.

oldguru 0 Posted June 16, 2006 Much appreciated! So through 5+ rounds, what's your unbiased input? I felt that there were a few reaches in the first three rounds that I didn't expect. As far as the last couple rounds, I believe that it would be hard to comment without mentioning players that haven't been picked. I will give my assessment of each team towards the end of the draft for what it is worth. But...right now I am basically thinking: I see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. It has been entertaining and insightful for me lurking at you guys.

Steel City Blues 0 Posted June 16, 2006 $10K?!?!?!?!? I'd be asking for breakfast & a BJ. That's how you end up shelling out for a Disney trip. Tomorrow AM is my last chance to draft before taking off till Sunday late. I'll take you up on the offer OldGuru so you can see more of my reaches. Note: if Sweetness doesn't pick. I'll wait before jumping. The people after can double jump or postpone till Monday for our inspirational leader.
Yippie Skippy 0 Posted June 17, 2006 Lets just lift the 12 hour time limit for the weekend until monday after Clash makes his pick. jocstrap 8 Posted June 17, 2006 Which 2 out of 3 running backs should I start in a 12 man redraft, ppr league week #1 ) Larry Johnson home against cincy Chester Taylor @ Washington Deshaun Foster home vs Atlanta It's obvious each of them will score a Td and go for 100 yards rushing and 35 receiving. But I'm looking for the 2td guy with 165 all purpose yards! Now that was funny

Which pretty much dictates that the guy you leave on the bench will blow up for 3 TDs and 180 yds with 55 receiving and 2 TDs. ...and there will be great rejoicing throughout the league. And while your 1-2 will score you plenty, your WRs are now solidly mediocre. Even if those WRs break out, I have great confidence that you'll butcher the rest of your draft. lol now THAT was funny. football_scooter 0 Posted June 19, 2006 You passed on Cedric Benson because once again, you didnt see it coming...... No. Not in the slightest. I had his name typed in. I had just read more news about TJ's absence in camp, and I typed in CB's name and almost hit "submit". Then I remembered last year when I was on the clock in one league. i had read all sorts of things about how Benson would be "the man" and all....didn't work out too well. In the end, I decided that my starting TE was more important to me at this point in the draft than a RB3. seeing as it's the 5th, I didn't think I'd survive the next 20 picks with an elite TE option still sliding to me - just because I do think there's not as much difference than in the past doesn't mean I don't recognize the value of a guy who averages 89 receptions a season in a PPR league. As for your rookie Addai, I love how you called him the "starting RB for the Colts" - you mean, you hope. If you think I didn't see him coming either, you're mistaken. I prefer to not take rooks unless I think it's a better bet. I am not all that interested in Addai. I think it'll be a relatively even split of carries there. but hey, good luck with all that and keep telling yourself I was sleeping. I kinda like my draft so far. I am fairly certain I'll compete.
