Volek will be worthless about halfway through the season....I fully expect VY to be handed over the reigns sooner rather than later. He's alot more "NFL ready" than scouts gave him credit for...

 

Carr however, was a pretty decent pick. I like him better than a few of the QB's that have been picked before him. You might have found yourself a nice little sleeper there. Kubiak's system should suit him well...and he's got weapons around him. Not a bad QB2 at all.

I think VY is being vastly underrated because of his low wonderlick scores.

I watched him play several games last year, and that guy is a gamer. Reminded me of Daunte Culpepper or better yet, Warren Moon. He can run like a truck, pass on the run, but the difference between VY & guys like Kordell Stewart and Vick is that for him, running is his last option. He takes time to make reads, and checkdown his receiving options before taking off.

 

I think he is a tremendous athlete and will be a tremendous pro QB.

 

But this depends on whether they can build the team around him to match his abilities - so in a way he's either a boom or bust as a pro. I'm betting on boom. Maybe not year 1, but soon. If he's starting by week 7, he could put up some decent games.

You know, all the people taking 3 QBs has me kind of puzzled...

 

I like Howie's (AKA "Solo's other alias") pick of Brad Johnson - he's a total wildcard, but should be good for steady 200/2 games. Consistency wins games. If my starter goes down, I like having a QB I can plug in and know he's going to put points on the board. And with CTaylor's receiving ability and Childress in at OC, there's potential for some extra passing TDs to the RB over last year.

 

anyway, maybe Rye will pop back in so I can take the pick I've been mulling over for 3 straight rounds. Let's see if Rye screws me again.

I couldnt agree more. He's going to eventually be a nice player, but the line is bad, the running game is weak, they dont have a top echelon receiver as a go to guy, the defense is nothing to write home about, and the coach will be fired after this season when the team finishes 3-13 and Vince will basically have to start all over again. He needs to stay on the bench all year if possible, imo.

Scooter - on those 3 qb teams??? I have never in my ff career since 1998 owned 3 qb's on one team . This is my first 20 round draft and by the looks of it, there won't be ANY players left when we are done. I am purely taking these guys just for depth. I even have a backup te on my team now? What is that all about? I look at players left and Qb's, Rb's, and Te's are running very very thin now. This is war of attrition and if you knock one of my guys out, I feel fairly confident with the next guy I plug in. 3 qb's by the 15th round has me puzzled also though. OH WELL, like I have said earlier it's been a very, very fun draft with guys that know what they are doing!

- Oh yea now we're talking! See if would have taken Chestor Taylor, then Boldin as my #1 wr - my #3 rb would be Tatum Bell, Ahman Green, Kevan Barlow, Cedric Benson and guys along that line who are splitting times.

 

I at least know at the start of the season my 3 running backs are not splitting carries (so far) and currently are not injured(cross those fingers). I have the depth I was looking for at the running back position. I like Boldin, but just not enough to watch 22 picks go before choosing another rb.

Ah, so we all know who is going to perform in the 2006 season. Yea right. We need to post predictions on top 5's in each position except def and kicker. The truth is we have no idea who is going to crawl out of the woodwork to get 10td's and 1000 rec/rushing and 3k passing yards. Every year has new guys + old has beens joining this elite group.

 

Stephen Davis 12td last year

Jerome Bettis 10+ td's and 10 total rushing yards

Tiki at age 30+ putting on an excellent show

 

 

Galloway coming on strong last year out of nowhere

PP could be in for a resurgance back in BUF...a lot depends on McGahee's ability to not be a pile of crap. That and I just can't see taking kickers when there's still WRs on the table.
