Giants Fan 85 Posted July 9, 2006 Accoridng to icasualties.org (a respected news source) coalition forces killed is now more than those killed on 9/11 by all estimates. American forces are the majority of those killed and strictly American forces will also soon surpass the 9/11 numbers. Just FYI.
spottedowl 1 Posted July 9, 2006 Why are you mad? shouldn't you be thankful for a military force that is voluntary? Some countries require military service when a person reaches 18 years of age. The country I live in does not, so... what is your beef? Why do you hate our military so much? I am getting sick and tired of you clueless people speaking for the fighting forces of the United States. If you know better... spill it. If not, let the troops do their jobs and shut the fock up!l Quit whining about the numbers and stop the idiotic protests of fallen troops. For crying out loud, dead soldiers have nothing to do with gays. The military has a job to finish, get out of the way.

Giants Fan 85 Posted July 9, 2006 You have no social security number then. It's a requirement. DUMBFOCK! "Selective service" ... aka the draft. You can't get a social security number though, without "selective service" forms admitted ... idiot poo brain focktard stupid head! Ever had a job, where you paid taxes? How do you figure I have no SSN? Oh ... so when you said, "Some countries have a voluntary military" ... you were thinking of what ... Mexico? I know people (reserves) that, involuntarily, went to war. If the draft is re-instated ... you signed the selective service form ... you could be drafted. Right? Right? I know people (reserves) that, involuntarily, went to war. If the draft is re-instated ... you signed the selective service form ... you could be drafted. Right? Right? No you idiot, many European countries require military service from the young people. I do not know any military person (reserves or guard) sent to war involuntarily. They were all volunteers As I said, I would serve my country again, so you can enjoy the deserts of Arizona.

Hey, you can ask my pledge father ... fall 1990, if he wanted to go to Saudi and drive a fuel truck, Army reserves. He'd prolly prefer to have stayed stateside ... eat ice cream ... but he didn't have a choice. And such is your selective service form. In exchange for your social security number ... whether you realize it or not ... you signed up for THE DRAFT! Dipshiat.

You pledge father did have a choice...he didnt have to join the army reserves. Everyone in the U.S. Military had the choice to stay home and eat ice cream.......just dont sign the dotted line of enlistment.

CURRENTLY the military is all people that "signed the dotted line." and some that have served, never thought they would go overseas. Didn't want to. Many have served longer than they expected to. My POINT IS ... you become eligible for THE DRAFT, as soon as you fill out your SELECTIVE SERVICE form. That's what it's for. If you didn't know this yet ... well too freaking bad! Giants Fan 85 Posted July 9, 2006 I am done talking to a clueless moron. Just stay home, smoke your pot, complain about the number of troops who gave their lives to defend your pot smoking. Awesome, because I was just gonna do, what I call ... a bonghit for the troops. Let's see ... my great, great grandfather fought for the North in the Civil war. Both my gradfathers were WW2 vets, and one is still living. My great uncle Ralph deciphered the Japanese surrender. My great grandfather was U.S. Secretary of Agriculture ... sorry my number never got drawn ... but I saw war once too. And I'm not talking about the news! Don't get all "high and mighty" with me! crackattack 520 Posted July 9, 2006 Yes you are right that once you sign the selective service forms you could be drafted. But since we havnt had a draft in what....30 plus years its a mute point. Your entire argument is mute, once I joined I knew I would go overseas, I knew that if there was a war I might have to go, knowing this I still signed the dotted line it was a CHOICE that I MADE, not the government, not the selective service, not Slick Willy, but me. So I guess I dont understand you point other then the whole draft thing. Oh and your number wasnt called cause you didnt call it.
Giants Fan 85 Posted July 9, 2006 I think .. you mean.. the argument is moot. I.E. a "moot point". But yes ... if you are a male U.S. citizen ... you did sign on the bottom line. Already. No draft right now though. Make sense?

I enjoy reading posts and the arguments within so much that I've avoided posting in the past. However, outside of a hillbilly bar, this is the most moronic, non sequitur argument I've ever seen! Many of us are angry that so many lives have been carelessly wasted in Iraq. Your conclusion to this is we must hate the troops??? No, we're angry becasue a lot of young American men and women have died in support of an ideology formulated by neo con chickenhawks in a DC think tank ten years ago. We're angry because these same chickenhawks cherry picked inteligence to scare Americans into a war that has destabilized an already volitile middle east and eroded our moral authority around the world. We're angry that any person who stands up to voice a dissenting opinion is automatically labeled a coward by those in the administration who avoided service when America called. Like many before them, the men and women who protect our freedoms so unselfishly deserve our respect and admiration. It's too bad the only respect and admiration they receive from the current administration is for a well timed photo op... A little man playing soldier in a flight suit. wiffleball 4,790 Posted July 10, 2006 .....A moment of silence and civility for the over 20,000 young men and women who have been killed or wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. While a nation rages, debates and insults, these brave souls face death, a loss of the basic 'necessities' we take for granted - and extended periods away from the ones they love for no other reason than to serve their country. May God Bless Each and Every One Of You and the familes that love you.
