Went to see Kenny Rogers in concert last night

Back in March of this year my girlfriend saw Kenny was playing in this 2,000 seat theatre right up the street and mentioned she had always wanted to see him. I checked online and bought tickets for her birthday (August). I have never seen him before and I know a couple songs from over the years. Overall the show was pretty good. He took a lot of time to talk to the audience and he was a pretty funny guy actually. He mentioned he has made 63 albums .

I went to the bathroom to take a piss before the show, there were 3 stalls and 3 urinals, everyone in there was over 60 and I swear it took 10 mins for them to do their business.

He recently released a new album and did a duet with Tim McGraw, so he sang the duet last night and one of his roadies brought up a cardboard standup of Tim. Tim's vocals were on a track, but one time Kenny put the Mic up to the cardboard's mouth when it was his turn to sing.

his roadie stayed on the stage and stood behind it and kept moving it around, he also was helping it dance and he kicked out his own legs a few times. kenny even put his arm around it and sang.

so he sings his 1st 2 songs and then he stops and they turn the lights on.

 

he says how he can always tell the men that are there because they like him and the men that are there because their wives made them go. he picks out this guy in the front row with his arms folded, the guy was in his 50's. He says he knows the guy is only there because of his wife. He tells the guy he'll give him 10 bucks for every kenny song he can name. The guy says 3 songs and kenny throws him a folded 10 for every song. Then he says, if the guy raises his hand at the start of any song he knows that's been a hit he'll give him another 10. So during the show as kenny is singing, he throws the guy like 5 or 6 more 10's. Before the encore, he talks to the guy and gives him the rest of the money in his pocket cause the guy was a good sport. it ended up being 150 bucks, then he gave him a kenny rogers t-shirt to wear and said he had to wear it to the car and if anyone saw him take it off to beat the sh!t out of him.

I don't drag my wife to football games and she would never drag me to a kenny rogers concert (if she liked kenny rogers, which she doesn't). I have always loathed his kind of music. I guess some people must like it since he is rich and still playing but not me.

my GF hates the red sox, but we went a few weeks ago and she had a decent time, because of the atmosphere. I didn't have a horrible time at the kenny show, it's called give and take. There are some things I would not go to, one being the Opera.
