They entered this year as the defending MAC champions, had a decent core of players back including QB Luke Getsy, and were expected to challenge for the MAC title again this year. They even upset NC St on the road the second game of the year. But they have been wildly inconsistent, their defense has been much worse than last year. They are 4-5, and need to win two games. But since they play Ohio U and West Mich in their last two games, I suspect Akron realizes that they are cooked, and their season is officially dead. Meanwhile Buffalo is a back door kind of team, trying hard in every game, and moving the ball up and down the field in second halves of games. They would have more points in the first halves of games, but they have had some issues with turnovers. Last week, they ended a 7 games losing streak by forcing 5 Kent turnovers in a stunning blow out win, and they certainly enter this game with more momentum, as Akron blew a double digit lead late to Bowling Green, fresh off a loss to Temple, and BG had a chance to tie the game as time ran out. Buffalo has covered their first four games, then played up and down based on turnovers. They had a couple of blow out losses mixed in to Ball St, Ohio U, and Boston College. Make no mistake, Buffalo could lose this game by 50. But they could also win this game outright. This is the first national TV game for Buffalo in some time, and they will have more enthusiasm, despite having less talent. Will it be enough? I have been fading Akron for weeks now. I’ll do it again. did you know there starting QB drew willy is out?

GiantsRule 0 Posted November 9, 2006 Predict tonights score everyone and let's see who comes the closest tomorrow. Since we all have been living in this thread every week. Louisville- 36 Rutgers- 17 I know you mean 34-17 or 36-15 or 34-14? Noticing a pattern here? Let's keep predictions below 51 points please!
Mack Daddy 0 Posted November 9, 2006 did you know there starting QB drew willy is out? His replacement started last week and they won 41-14, so he can't be any worse. From the looks of it, he may be better that this Willy character.... I'm not touching that game anyway, but I thought I would add my $.02.

phillybear 366 Posted November 9, 2006 phillybear, who are some of the respectable cappers on covers.com? if you dont mind could you list a couple off the top of your head? I couldn't really say. I read many of the threads for information. Hawaiiguy is pretty good handicapping Hawaii games, and I read The Garfarthers Underdog thread, as there is always good info there. But I don't really pay attention to who is doing good or bad. i read a write up on covers about dr. bob, whats the big deal about him? ive never heard of him before. He is a handicapper that sells picks, but his writeups leak out on the internet. Last year, he hit about 75% of his best bets in college football, and he is over .500 each of the last few years, including this year. The problem is that his picks this year are moving lines because some syndicates, basically groups of sharp bettors who wager very large amounts of money, are betting all of his games as soon as he puts them out on Thursdays. And that is moving the lines on those games. Most of the time this year, the line moves haven't affected whether he won or lost on his picks. Most of the time. His writeups are mathematicaly thorough, and I enjoy reading them, to see if I agree with his assessment. I usually end up playing his games, as I typically liked those games as well. Last week, he went 3-2 on his games. The problem is that the more people that follow him, the more likely that his good run will come to an end. Exposure like that can only lead to doom. Tread carefully following him. did you know there starting QB drew willy is out? Yes, which is a good thing, as Paoli has put up better numbers.

cyclone24 1,914 Posted November 9, 2006 Im not going ot predict a score.... So......there ya go

GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted November 9, 2006 After watching that Thursday night game between Louisville and West Virginia last week. It seemed like neither team knew the basics of defense. The quarterback of WV would just hike the ball and run for 1st downs all night. He'd give it to his running back to mix it up a little. West Virginia could not hang on to the ball either. It was popping out when nobody was hitting them. However, Louisville can't stop the run. Rutgers can run, as Pittsburgh found out. The question is, can Louisville pass effectively on Rutgers? I think they can. Rutgers is known for stopping the run, but this Louisville team actually has some decent passing plays. I think the sophistication of Louisville's passing will be too much for Rutger's defense to adjust to. Final score: Louisville 30 Rutgers

I'm not Philly, buuuuuuuuut... I always read Garfather's ML dogs thread. Don't really play ML dogs, but it's good some good info on the teams. And BoDogKilla is freaking on fire this year. He's winning like 80%. And CarolinaBlue has been doing very well this season too. I don't know how BDK and CB did last year though. Garfather has been doing this for quite a while.
