GR good luck on your hedge...I really don't like it...I think Suns score 60+ this half...Dallas will get tired and the Suns played really bad the first half and still scored 55

 

Other than some poor turnovers where did the Suns play bad? They hit 7 3 pointers and damn near shot 60% from the field.

Since I follow the ACC extremely close that's what I'll focus primarily on and the Big XII. I'm still doing research on the mid majors. I'll still chime in on this thread if everyone else is still talking hoops.

 

That is the current debate. Whether to post picks outside of football on the Geek Bored. I will do my bewst to make it so. It only makes sense. After Sunday/Monday, let's see what we can do....

Took Phoenix Under 55.5 (-105) for the half (essentially Under 111.5)

 

If there's any justice, Phoenix will score 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, or 111 points. Like everything else tonight though, I ain't holding my breath.

I'm in. Might as well. Just don't hold it against me when it loses because I took it.

 

I know you have friends coming in, but is there any chance you can take a look for any lines that are out of whack (like last week) or was that a once in a lifetime gift?

lol, there's nothing to see. Phoenix played good and so did the Mavs. The only big difference was Dallas was more aggressive. I'm sure Phoenix will still put up points, but to say they played bad the first half is wrong.

Sounds good to me. An early hoops game this weekend I'm already looking at is Arizona/Virginia. I think Zona will be favored by 3 since it's at Virginia's new arena. The crowd will be pumped, but unless the line is over 5 I like Arizona.

If you look earlier in the thread you'll see where I said the Suns would score 115 which they pretty much did I believe. You said the Suns played really bad in the first half and all I did was say how they didn't play that bad when they scored 55 points, shot 60 percent from the field and over 60% behind the arc. I think it's pretty obvious they couldn't have been playing that bad. But if it makes you feel better that I pointed out some facts to dispute what you said then feel free. And I was referring to his original bet of the Suns over 105, genius. If you read a little close he said he was HEDGING the bet. Let me know if you need help with the big words.

I don't think you have much to worry about, honestly. Unless the Suns have tired legs from travel they'll put up the points. I wouldn't be surprised if they put up around 115. I know I probably sound like a p!ssed of Mavs fan, and I am, but the fact is their defense has sucked.

YER Mom I didn't say anything about the original 105 bet....In fact I took Suns over 106.....I simply said to GR I did not like his hedge bet because I felt the Suns played bad the first half....meaning they left a lot of points on the court because of the turnovers...and figured the Suns for 60+ the second half....But if you can find me saying anything about a bad bet for the Suns scoring over 105 ....I will give you a blank check. The NFL and midweek college games have just killed me this year. Going 11-2 last Saturday on all 5 unit plays got me ahead around $700. I have given half of that back in 5 days.

The line tonight went from Pk to -2 UAB. If it STAYS at -2 or more by game time, I will hit on UTEP since majority is picking UAB to win.

 

I'm betting just by watching the line moving, no feeling about any teams in college. Here are my picks for Saturday that the line is moving of 2 or more pts. My picks are CAPITALIZED, and if the spread moved back to where it first open, then I would stay away from the game.

However, I have been doing very well playing CFB. As I mentioned earlier, BYU, Wisconsin and Ohio St have been very good to me.

 

So, without further to do, here is my card for tomorrow.

 

 

Wisconsin -2 for 4 units. Stucco is on a roll and Iowa seems to have packed it in for the season.

 

Arkansas -6 for 4 units. Love the way them hogs run the ball.

 

Houston -3 (anyone have a clue why this line opened at -6.5 and now has dropped to 3??) for 2 units.

 

Oregon +8 for 2 units. May consider the ML here. USC is not the same USC from the last few years IMO.

 

South Carolina +12.5 for 3 units at the biggest cocktail party. The ole ball coach should be able to keep this one fairly close as Fla doesn't blow anyone out.

 

Texas a.m. and the 12th man in a pickem vs Nebraska. Should be 3 points. I'll take a.m. to win. 3 units.

 

Boise St - 13.5 isn't on the blue turf but should still out class San Jose st.

I'd say the betters on this site are going with CMich and UTEP tonight. Many are riding someone named Dr Bob at covers.com who also backs UTEP. Dr Bob is like Greenspan - he farts and the line jumps 2 points. I've seen some pretty good reasoning for betting on CMich, and the line has not acted up too much. As a matter of fact, it's seems to be stuck at 6. I this case I'd recommend watching where the last minute money goes and go with it.

CMU 4-0 SU last 4 games this year, winning by 22,11,17,16 and come into this game on a roll. In fact, CMU is 12-2-2 ATS roll since 2005. The three CMU losses have come against Boston College, Michigan, and Kentucky, with Mich and Kentucky games on the road. CMU is 5-0 in conference play. CMU is second in the MAC with 250 yards passing per game; WMU has one of the best overall defenses in the MAC, only Ohio U was able to run for more than 100 yards, but they allow 210 passing yards per game. Western Mich really struggled the last two weeks, eeking out a pair of 3 point wins over the dregs of the MAC in Eastern Mich and Miami OH. UTEP is a better team on offense and defense. UAB HC Watson Brown is under fire for his job. He just complained his UAB defense lacks toughness. Last year UTEP needed a win to wrap up the Conference USA West Title but UAB controlled 21-3 at the half for a 35-23, UTEP’s only home loss. UTEP dropped its final regular season game and its bowl game. That loss ruined their season. Big time revenge game. UAB is struggling mightily on offense, and couldn't even score a touchdown vs. a bad SMU defense last week. UAB has allowed 22,31,34,29 vs SMU, Marshall, Rice, and Memphis the last couple of games prior to SMU, and UTEP is a better offense. UAB has injury problems with their RBs UTEP is still in bowl contention at 4-5 and desperately need this win, UAB is 3-6 and is done.UTEP is 11th in the nation in passing. UAB is 1-6-1 ATS this year. UAB is 3-6 ATS at home last 9. I think UTEP simply outscores UAB tonight. My book doesn' have a moneyline on this game, so I'll take the points.
