Cdub100 3,903 Posted April 4, 2007 Kate and Juliet are stranded in the jungle after Kate learns that there is a traitor in the survivor's midst. Meanwhile, Sawyer's poor attitude and selfish ways towards the beach community may earn him a vote of banishment if he doesn't have a change of heart. So I'm watching Season 3 Ep 4 again and one thing that struck me odd was Ben didn't know what Sawyers weight and age was. They know everything about the losties, but for some reason he didn't know sawyers information. Also Damon confirmed phillybears thought that lock was not the guy falling from the building when Hurley was meeting with his accountant. phillybear... you wouldn't happen to be posting on the ABC lost fan site, would you? phillybear 366 Posted April 5, 2007 Random thoughts from phillybear... - I feel somewhat vindicated, after arguing for 2 weeks across various websites that Locke was not the person Hurley saw falling past the window of his meeting from Season 2. One of the executive producers confirmed it wasn't Locke. PWNED!!!! -I have taken great care not to read upcoming spoilers...As my usual tradition, I rewatched last weeks episode tonight, just before the airing of a fresh episode... -Every jungle scene where someone is running, has any TV show or movie done a better job of capturing the speed vs the underbrush. Kudos. -Nikki is dead. Too bad. She looked very smoking dancing on the pole. Even Dr Artz blatently was looking at her perky cans during the episode. -I lost count at the number of references to the monster. If this isn't foreshadowing, I'll eat the underwear I am wearing right now. I love the monster. I want to see it again, soon. Please, answer my prayers, oh, all powerful Lost gods. More monster = more gooder. -Some great one liners from last episode, some foreshadowing... -We all know what happens to guest stars... -Please, promise me we won't end up like them...(too late, all of you are dead) -forensics hatch....(brilliant) -Ethan said the plane split apart, and maybe Nikki and Paulo should look inland for their luggage. Again, N & P failed the island test. Ignoring the plane in the tree, the hatch, and Ethan obvious slip up. How would he know the plane split up unless he viewed it from the ground? -Since the Cobra turned up to be a twist in the Expose universe, it has to foreshadow more twists upcoming in the next couple of weeks. And that is one of the best parts of the Lost universe, the twists. Let's see what happens with Cobra/Jacob. Enjoy tonight.
Vikings4ever 550 Posted April 5, 2007 -Ethan said the plane split apart, and maybe Nikki and Paulo should look inland for their luggage. Again, N & P failed the island test. Ignoring the plane in the tree, the hatch, and Ethan obvious slip up. How would he know the plane split up unless he viewed it from the ground? Obviously Ethan saw it from the ground, but the rest fo the passengers knew because the tail section tore off, as we saw in the first episode.
phillybear 366 Posted April 5, 2007 Obviously Ethan saw it from the ground, but the rest fo the passengers knew because the tail section tore off, as we saw in the first episode. My argument is that if they saw the tail tear off, logically, wouldn't you say, look out to sea for the tail section, especially if you just crashed on the edge of a beach, where the engines are pointed inland? Yet, Ethan said, look inland. Wait a second, if the tail section tore off, why isn't it out to sea, if the mid section is on the edge of a beach, facing inland? Juniper 0 Posted April 5, 2007 The only thing more exciting would be taking Jack and Sayid back to their side of The Island; I thought tonight's episode sucked.

MicktheGreat 1 Posted April 5, 2007 I thought this episode was OK but not as good as I was expecting... PROS: --the Monster was in this episode, which is always a good thing --the cat-fight (although it was way too short) --Locke's bizarre and revealing farewell ("I told them you were a good person, but forgiveness isn't their strong suit.") --the real purpose of the security wall outside the Others' camp (i.e. Juliet's reaction to the Monster was a little interesting...she was obviously lying to Kate when she initially acted dumb as to the presence/existence of the Monster...HOWEVER, the way she acted when the Monster encountered the wall--i.e. standing there and curiously observing the Monster--makes me think that the Others don't know much more about the Monster than the Losties do) CONS: --Kate backstory episode (I find Kate's backstory to be pretty much played-out at this point...you know that everytime she has a flashback, it's going to be about her avoiding the authorities) --I don't like the idea of making Sawyer a clear-cut "good guy" or leader...his character's more interesting with the constant threat of him doing bad things --Juliet going back to the Losties camp was very predictable (as was Sayid's reaction to that news and he's probably right)...I'm sure that Juliet will eventually betray the Losties in some manner...also, from the previews, it seems like Sayid will interrogate her at some point (but, given Sayid's poor track record at interrogation on the island, Juliet will manage to avoid his questions...seriously, for a government-trained interrogator, Sayid NEVER gets any real, honest answers from the people he questions)
Vikings4ever 550 Posted April 5, 2007 --I don't like the idea of making Sawyer a clear-cut "good guy" or leader...his character's more interesting with the constant threat of him doing bad things I think it was to set up more Jack/Sawyer tension. Just as Sawyer's getting ready to go straight and help out the Losties, Jack comes, and the Losties don't need Sawyer anymore.

kutulu 1,676 Posted April 5, 2007 What do you think those flashes were when Kate and Juliet were hiding from the smoke monster? Was it taking pictures?
RLLD 4,230 Posted April 5, 2007 What do you think those flashes were when Kate and Juliet were hiding from the smoke monster? Was it taking pictures? I suspect it was performing an "analysis". Juliet is a new entity and it was scanning her for her "qualities". When the thing took echo, the bad things he did in his life were flashing in it, so it must know who the bad people are.... CantTouchThis 23 Posted April 5, 2007 I thought it was a good episode, was expected more action though. Deffinently a bizzare epsiode though. The losties suddenly moving, Locke, for some reason, going with them. I mean, i can see leaving Juliet behind, she wasn't loyal to them anymore because she was expecting to go home and wanted to kill Ben and killed that one dude and everything. I thought about what if Juliet and Jack are still working for the others and staged the whole thing and they will infiltrate the losties. But, i seriously doubt it since we seen Juliet isn't really one of them, and Jack was just nice to them because they were going to let him leave. The flashback was pretty lame though, other than revealing Kate's mom is an idiot and Kate worked with the chick Sawyer conned/impregnated. Oh yeah, the Juliet said the others don't know what the monster is, which is probably the truth. The monster has nothing to do with the others and is just a creation or w/e of the island. jets24 6 Posted April 5, 2007 I sensed that Locke was just playing along with them, given that they have cameras and stuff. He will be back in a good way, I think.

Cdub100 3,903 Posted April 6, 2007 Why didn't the monster just go over the fence like Kate, locke and Syied. Could locke be taking over the others?
nobody 2,667 Posted April 6, 2007 Maybe some portion of it needs to stay close to the ground. I don't think it's that big of a deal though. What people should be asking is if the others don't know what the smoke monster is, how did they know that a sonic fence would keep it out? If they didn't build the fence, how did they get the arm/disarm codes?
teejay booker 0 Posted April 6, 2007 Why didn't the monster just go over the fence like Kate, locke and Syied. Could locke be taking over the others? The monster didn't go over the fence because then Kate and Juliet would have died, which would have prevented them from hooking up with each other once they get back to the beach. I don't think Locke is taking over the others. I think he wants to know how the fvck they got his father from this "black box". Locke is mystefied with everything about the Island and its powers. He knows the Others are the only ones that can provide him with some information. As a previous poster said, I think he is playing along to get some answers. On a side note, in the past 2 episodes, Locke's demeanor and personality have changed a little. He seems to be more empowered than ever. I am VERY into this show right now. phillybear 366 Posted April 6, 2007 Just watched the episode, somewhat sober. I think nearly every thing I wanted to comment on was already covered in this thread. Not much to add. The whole point of the episode was to transition Juliet into the Losties group. It confirmed that the pillars keep the monster out, which wasn't a surprise. The snapshot effect was different, but it was scanning someone brand new to it's territory, Juliet. I guess this means that Juliet's sister (the monster) will end up walking around the island soon. I sincerely hope that Juliet starts to spill everything, but the writers will find a way to make that torrent of information a bare trickle. Love the monster. That initial sound it makes when it is ready to appear....gives me wood. More monster = more gooder. After several weeks of momentum, the last two weeks were of a slower pace, basically the show catching it's breath before a frantic finish to the season, hopefully. nobody 2,667 Posted April 6, 2007 At first I thought Locke was just stupid... like I thought he was worried about someone forcing him to leave the island. Now we see his motives are twofold. He doesn't want to leave the island and he doesn't want his pappy to find the island. Now I see he is evil with a little bit of coward mixed in. Evil in that he is willing to put his own desires ahead of the other survivors and a coward for being so afraid that his father might find them if the survivors get off the island and tell everyone what happened. CantTouchThis 23 Posted April 6, 2007 Yeah, i don't think Locke is smart enough to do anything crazy to the others. I mean, he knows a lot about surviving, but he sucks when it comes to these mind-games the other's play. I really think Ben is telling Locke the truth, how he was coming to get him that one day, and i think they are being legit to him because he really is no threat to them. He is going because he wants to know what is going on, but you know what they say, curiousity killed the cat. I still am wondering about Walt and Michael, i think they are a trump card. I still am wondering about Walt and Michael, i think they are a trump card. For some reason, I thought I remembered reading that the actor who played Walt was scheduled to appear at some point in THIS season; but the actor who played Michael was not. Have we seen Walt in a flashback or something so far this season??? I could've sworn that I read that somewhere...
nobody 2,667 Posted April 6, 2007 Does anyone else think the others are leaving the suburbs because Locke told Ben that they are cheating by not roughing it? Maybe they are going to go find their own beach to live on.
RLLD 4,230 Posted April 6, 2007 I get the impression that perhaps the others are still there due to the healing nature of the island in some way as well. Locke wants to stay since it made him all better, perhaps many of the others had physical ailments that also more or less "keep" them there. Some of them purportedly would like to leave (Juliet), and perhaps people like her were brought to the island in the hope that they could understand why it heals. I think it interesting that suddenly Ben isn't being healed. Almost as if the island has decided it no longer 'loves" him and is instead paying attention to Locke now.... I dunno..... edjr 6,580 Posted April 6, 2007 What I want to know is why wouldn't the Losties immediately head back to the little neighborhood and live in the houses instead of living on the beach. That's exactly what I said. More importantly, they will be protected from the monster and any intruders. Right?
CantTouchThis 23 Posted April 6, 2007 Does anyone else think the others are leaving the suburbs because Locke told Ben that they are cheating by not roughing it? I am guessing it's because the losties now knew where it was, and they didn't want to keep Kate and Sayiid(and Jack and Juliet i guess) prisoner, so they just moved.
