Feeding a garter snake

Recommended Posts

Anyone know anything about this? Have a wild garter that we've decided to keep as a pet. I bought some nightcrawlers and put one in his waterdish.

Today, he's just sitting outside the water dish with his mouth open. It's as if he expects this thing to walk in or something. Is he ever going to go get this thing? Should I just be patient?

I think I figured out the problem - he seems to be dead. My best guess is that the dumb bastard never figured out where his water dish was, because I never actually saw him in there. I guess plastic wasn't good enough for this elitist POS snake - he wanted me to spring $25 on the dish that looked like a focking rock.

Revive it. Give it mouth to mouth. Maybe a tickle on the belly.
