Liberal Hero Michael Moore exposed....100% fraud

Recommended Posts

Actually, I was reading something recently about the fact that you don't really have many conservative documentaries. Much of it has to do w/the difficulty that the people who want to make such films have obtaining financing and distribution channels. Apparently, Hollywood isn't as eager to fund such films as they are more liberal fare like MM's stuff.

Vast left wing conspiracy. :dunno:

One such film is called Indocrinate U, which focuses on the liberal bias in America's colleges and universities today. The maker of the film actually asked MM about the lack of con docu's.

Doesn't this support the belief that Michael Moore is looking for some debate on these issues?

I still have not had anyone rationally explain why there is hatred for what the guy does and hatred for him as a person. I am not a fan of his work, but bringing these things to light and providing a forum for discussion is a good thing.

People lie all the time. If it was based solely on him lying (and I still don't have that proof), then GWB, ###### Cheney and the entire Congress would be hated and threatened on a daily basis.

Actually, yes, it does. Frankly, when I first read about it I was pleasantly suprised.

However, that still doesn't address my main criticisms of the man. Namely, that I think he uses shady editing tricks his movies to support his ideas, regardless of how inaccurately the subject is presented and that he seems to be yet another "do gooder" who tells the American people to do as he says, not as he does.

Do the libs who disagree with Bush and Cheney wish bodily harm to them? I think that the conservatives who hate Moore wish that he would:

1. STFU

2. Die

I just don't understand why this strikes such a nerve with the Neo-Cons. If you were to take a poll, I would think that Moore is just one notch below Osama bin Laden in the eyes of Neo-Cons.

I has been my observation that, yes, many of them do, in fact, wish bodily harm on them.

Kind of like the comparisons of Bush to Hitler?

i can't believe you trying to defend that asinine statement. YES many liberals do hate cheney and bush and wish harm upon both of them. i'm sure it'd be just as easy...if not easier to find examples of this as it would be to find examples of conservatives wishing harm upon MM.

I guess that I have not seen that occur. If it does, then that is just plain stupid.

BTW - I am sure that I have never heard the term "Hitlery" anywhere around here :ninja:

Why?

Why not?

Ok, we have a libertarian in the house. Chavinistic, too. Winning combo.

Why? Because our federal government already overbloats everything they get their fingers on.

Healthcare for everyone, sponsored by your Federal Government. Welcome to the Soviet Republic...you work, we give you everything you need to be happy. That works real well.

Try reading the Constitution.

Yep, I am learning to lean libertarian. And don't even go the chauvinistic role. You know that what I was getting at was one stay at home parent. Since our wonderful world doesn't give equal pay for women who do the same work as a man...it would seem to make sense....

This isn't a new or revelutionary in anyway, even in 'documentaries', check out Primary, came out in 1960 covering the Democratic Primary in WI between Kennedy and Humphreys. Using editing to create bias is nothing new. Even the most unbiased editor in the world, still has to pick the shots and what's cut, it could be for 100% astetic reasons, but because that's subjective, bias is introduced. It need not be intentional.

As far as Moore, his 'documentary's' are intentionally biased and inflamatory. He's using the medium to make an arguement. Shady editing, I don't think so, he selects what will best work for his arguenents, it's no more shady then any commercial you see today. Is what he doing anymore shady then one of the experts on Fox or CNN arguing to prove their point, who does not acknowledge or mention counter-points or studies that don't support his opinion?

Personally, from an editing standpoint I find his films pretty well done. To make the arguements he makes humorously through the use of editing, not easy to do. ---granted I've only seen Roger and Me and Bowling for Columbine.

Because his broad conclusions about Iraq - that Bush lied and the war was started by former allies of Saddam Hussein - are correct and they know it ... HTH!

If so, why?

Geez, when you actually get him to admit that, you can forward it to 'whitehouse.gov' and they'll be knocking on his door within 20 mins tops.

I find there to be a big difference between choosing to include or exclude shots to further support one's argument and splicing toegether different shots to create your own reality.

I mean, in Bowling for Columbine, when Moore took two different speeches by Heston...speeches where he was wearing a different shirt and tie...and then splicing them together to make it seem as if it was all part of one speech was way too much for me to stomach. Why not just record someone talking and then splice the individual words together to completely fabricate what they said? That's pretty much what it reminded me of.

Yeah, and that's why his credibility is in question, because people know he pushes the envelope.

This comment is really asinine.

Yes, there are libnuts that wish death upon Cheney and Bush... the same way as some conservatives kooks wish Hillary or Michael Moore would die.

Most libs wish Bush and Cheney would go away, not die. Most conservatives wish Michael Moore would shut up, not die.... unless of course the extremist right-wing wackos (e.g. BozBoFan, Recliner Lemming, etc.) represent the majority on the conservative faction.

I'd have to watch it again.

To be really fair would have to watch both of Heston's speeches too, to find the relevance of what was cut out/left in.

Honestly, I don't care enough of about Moore to want to subject myself to any of this. :D

Again: if this is the alleged reason for the right's 'hatred' for Michael Moore, where is the 'hate' for FauxNews, Hannity, Limbaugh, Grudge, Savage, and the rest of the right wing propaganda machine?

:D

P.S. Not to mention Bush, Cheney, Rice, Powell, Rumsfeld, McCain, Giuliani, Romney, Newt, Frist, DeLay, etc. etc. etc...

Why would I wish bodily harm on Bush or Cheney? They've done more in 7 years to discredit neoconservatism and ruin the GOP's reputation for a generation than Michael Moore could accomplish in a lifetime of movies. I wish for Bush / Cheney to leave office as one of the worst administrations in history, and I'm pretty confident they will.

So they have a 59 deceits document that outlines "lies" in Fahrenheit 9/11. Apparently, they have a rebuttal to those 59 deceits: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/7/18/173312/462

I would imagine that there is a rebuttal to the rebuttal, but I really don't give a flying fock either way at this point. I just figured that we should have both sides on that one.

BTW - Is that movie even worth watching?

Well, I was going to take that into account.

I did not see the whole thing, but I caught the tale end of a PBS special on Iraq from the time that we went in until we left them in charge from a political standpoint. Interesting take on things. It might have been a Frontline show on the "Lost year in Iraq"

My question in this thread was why there was so much venom towards Moore.

Because he blew up Mount Rushmore and tried to kill Team America: World Police. That's why. You happy about that mister?

I was no longer a fan after he blew up the Team America headquarters..what an a hole

Dammit. Should have read the thread first. :wall:
