New California Laws effective 7/1/07

New Driving Fines for 2007

1. Carpool lane - 1st time $1068.50 starting 7/1/07 (The $271 posted

on the highway is old). Don't do it again because 2nd time is going to be

double. 3rd time triple, and 4th time license suspended.

 

2. Incorrect lane change - $380. Don't cross the lane on solid lines or intersections.

 

3. Block intersection - $485

 

4. Driving on the shoulder - $450

 

5. Cell phone use in the construction zone. - Double fine as of 07/01/07.

Cell phone use must be "hands free" while driving.

 

6. Passengers over 18 not in their seatbelts - both passengers and drivers get tickets .

 

7. Speeders can only drive 3 miles above the limit.

 

8. DUI = JAIL (Stays on your driving record for 10 years!)

 

9. As of 07/01/07 cell phone use must be "hands free" while driving.

Ticket is $285. They will be looking for this like crazy - easy money for police department.

There should be cell phone laws and it's the next major change in driving law. After enough people die in accidents due to a cell phone, it will happen. There's no doubt about it.

 

That being said, I'll admit that I'll talk on my phone while eating a sandwich in city traffic driving my stick shift.

 

Hell, I've taken a cell phone call from my ex while jerking off in traffic. That needs to be illegal. I don't want to die that way.

Jerking off in traffic needs to be illegal? I think it would depend on the size of your wiener. If you have a small one, you could probably conceal it pretty well. Those well endowed might have a problem.

Oh, I'm not worried about the people that want to watch. On a road trip once, the ex was giving me head on the interstate and a trucker gave us the horn. Ex looked up, then went back to business. The trucker stayed next to us the whole time. What the fock do I care?

 

My point is that I'm worried about the drivers around me while I'm holding the phone against my shoulder talking to the ex while jerking off and trying to eat my Quiznos. If I have to downshift during that time, I'm focked and so is everyone else on the road.

Similar thing happened to me and I had a CB on (ch. 19) and this freakin guy was giving play by play and moving back and giviving others a turn. I still remember it it was on RT 40 West headding across Tenensse.
