edjr 6,608 Posted August 2, 2007 FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Randy Moss missed the New England Patriots morning practice Thursday, one day after the wide receiver apparently injured his left leg during a passing drill. Moss, acquired from Oakland in a trade during the draft, pulled up midway through Wednesday's practice. Medical trainers applied ice to his upper left leg, and he later left the field under his own power. Patriots coach Bill Belichick did not discuss the specifics of Moss' injury and did not know when Moss would return to practice. "Randy's good, day to day," Belichick said after the team's first practice of the day. The 30-year-old Moss is attempting to get his career back on track after a disappointing two-year stay in Oakland. He had been a standout in Patriots training camp, catching nearly every pass thrown his way. He was injured while running under a deep ball thrown by Tom Brady. The two had connected on similar plays throughout camp. The Patriots have 12 receivers on the roster. Three are on the physically- unable-to-perform list: veteran Troy Brown, free agent Donte' Stallworth and Chad Jackson, a second-round draft pick a year ago whose rookie season was limited by leg injuries. Chad Jackson anyone?

NewbieJr 541 Posted August 2, 2007 Get used to it. Anyone expecting the 2001 Moss to suddenly make a comeback, is in for a very disappointing season. All he ever had was blazing spped to run the fly pattern. Now that he's lost that speed, he is barely above average. Add to that his work-ethic and refusal to block downfield, and he becomes very average. Stallworth will outproduce him. Mark it down.

wiffleball 4,790 Posted August 2, 2007 The reality of most of these pre-season non-contact injuries (mostly hamstring) is that these lazy fockers have jacked-around playing X-box all off-season instead of staying in condition. Their muscles are tight and relatively out of shape for the type of pace these guys work out at. The think some 10 minute cursory stretching exercises at the top of camp is going to undo 7 months of sloth. It's really disgusting if you think about what these guys get paid. "Hey, here's a thought, you're getting millions - and you only have to work 5 months a year. Is it too much to ask you to jog, run a few wind-sprints once a week the OTHER 7 months of the year so you're ready to do your J-O-B next season?"

NewbieJr 541 Posted August 2, 2007 Yes, because we all know Stallworth's history of extreme durability... I didn't say it was. I said Stallworth will outproduce Moss this year. (also, the eyeroll is gay)

tweaker 0 Posted August 2, 2007 Wes will outperform both of those guys. You know he will. The white boys stay in shape all summer because they know how much harder the have to try to make up for the lack of God given talent the brothers posses. I think Welker out performs both as well. I think the production goes like this Chad Jackson Wes Welker Moss Stallworth
redtodd 7 Posted August 2, 2007 Neither one will be on the Patriots next year. No doubt. Stallworths deal would be too huge for more than one year, and Moss will want more $ after this year taking a discount.

He won't even see the field the first few games at the soonest.
NewbieJr 541 Posted August 2, 2007 Neither one will be on the Patriots next year. Finally. A post from a Patriots fan that I agree with. The Moss experiment will end similar to the Ownes experiment in Philly. Bilechick will never put up with the garbage that Denny Green or Art Shell did. Especially from a player with declining talents.

What has Moss done off the field beside nudge a traffic person with his car? Dare I say, I think the Raiders over the last two years were more sucktastic than the Bengals were. No one would have been happy there. I am assuming that Moss will behave because the Pats will be winning, something he hasn't been a part of for a while. I could be wrong, and I hope I am not. If he is a dink, they can cut him at any moment and still be a Super Bowl team.
peenie 1,915 Posted August 2, 2007 gee-zus! are you serious?! injury already! i always have such hope for moss and he disappoints everytime. well, it doesn't matter because the patriots are good with or without him.
