TNG's Running Mileage for July

Recommended Posts

July = 61.48

June = 60.62

That's only a difference of .86 of a mile. I am actually kind of dissappointed in myself.

I hope to get August up around 63 miles for the month.

At any rate, I am doing it. That's all that matters.

Go me!!!

VEAL!

Really though, I've never seen TNG or anything, but if she's out running and trying to stay fit, that's admirable.

Stupid? Oh yes. It's like 100 focking degrees.

But admirable? Definitely.

Go TNG Go! (damn you for having an article at the beginning of your handle)

Congrats TNG! I think I've always been supportive of these threads and plan to continue to be so. :thumbsup:

It should be noted that your miles are much further than normal people, with you being a midget and all.

60 miles a month and you go nowhere, poor lurch. Even when you are running you are nagging. THAT and you are taking away some precious jagoff time from your depressed counseled husband.

Have him call me.

The true test of a long distance runner and someone in tip top shape is to only run outdoors as the elements make it twice as hard vs a indoor treadmill. I drive up to the park with a trail and run 3-5 miles a day 6 days a week and have been for the last 10 years. All seasons. No breaks. Very steep hills. I think you should try running outdoors when Oct-Nov come around.

I do five miles a day in the fall/winter as you can always throw on some extra gear and some gloves and then the cold weather is no problem and the cool fresh air is a added bonus. I do 3 in the summer cause it's a different story and a real pain in the ass. You can't really do anything to take away the 90-100 degree temps or the amount of sweat that by the time I finish my 2nd lap has gone down my forehead and into my eyes and at times it will burn. I never stop though till I reach my goal and that is finishing the 3rd lap and when I do I feel great but along the way it sucks while in the fall/winter it's actually very relaxing and it's more like coasting.

thats great that you run that far, but i do mid 50's outdoors.

wind, dewpoint temp, rain, cold, etc, all factors into your time, but then again, if you are just doing it for the miles

congrats :wave:

plus, the belt helps move you, so you need to put the grade up to 1.0 to get the effect of running outdoors and the belt absorbs shock as well, which helps your knees/feet

Isn't that the high-tech machine that's imported from Germany?

:overhead:

Mine is just a fancy schmancy brand.

You realize that I have just started running again after having not run for about 3 years. I am not about to get back to the level I was at before without slowly getting there. I don't want to fock up my body.

And finding the time to run 2 miles a day with two small kids? Yeah, THAT"S an easy task. So, :thumbsdown: yourself.

Nice job TNG.

I used to run quite a bit and I am helping my gf get into it - we are doing the John Stanton "run/walk" program to get her up to 5km at a time...

Going too far, too fast can lead to injury and then you start missing runs and it all goes downhill fast.

Personally I find this beginning part boring, I am a lot bigger than her and I already play sports so going slow and not very far gets on my nerves but I totally understand about getting back into it.

BTW, if you have your treadmill at 2.0 incline that is as close as running outside on a flat surface as you will get.
