Cuse9 129 Posted September 15, 2007 Mcnabb or Romo this week? i'm torn and i have no clue as to which way to lean...i've been told to start both and can't make a decision...i need some good adivce...thanks. I have both in one league as well. Last week I went with McNabb.....ouch!! This week we have McNabb vs Washington and Romo vs Miami. The breakdown: Washington has quick LB's that should be able to hang with Westy and keep LJ in check. The key is going to be if the ABC's (Avant, Brown, Curtis) can get free. I think they can and it will allow McNabb to have a decent day. Washington is a stalling offense, so the chances for McNabb are going to be few. Romo will have to use his feet. Miami may be getting old, but they can still put pressure on the QB about as well as anyone. If the OLine gives Romo good time then he should be able to put up some stats for us. Owens is too good for anyone to cover and Crayton/Hurd have good hands and great speed. With Witten and Fasano controlling the air for shorter plays I think Romo can find the wr's for some long plays. I'm taking Romo. With his weapons I think he just offers too much to pass on again. McNabb should do well, but not as well as Romo.
Cuse9 129 Posted September 15, 2007 who do you like as my #2 WR this week??? braylon edwards VS cincy or devrey henderson VS tampa and... do you still like edge over porits this weekend?? thanks cuse I think the Edge is a very good back. Last he didn't have a good line and had a QB with no confidence. This year he has Whisenhunt who loves to run. I think they'll throw more, they didn't utilize Boldin and Fitz the way they should have vs SF. I think Edge will have a solid year and should start every week for almost every fantsy team. WR wise I would take the more talented guy in this case. Edwards has all the talent in the world....they just don't use him enough. Henderson has to share the ball with too many people in New Orleans, he'll have good games and games where he don't exist. If they can target Braylon 7-10 times he'll post good numbers. Cuse9 129 Posted September 16, 2007 Need to choose 2 of 3 RB Reggie Bush @ TB Willie Parker vs Buffalo Adrian Peterson @ Det I am leaning towards Peterson and Parker but I hate chasing points. Last week I started Bush over Peterson. Also need help with my third WR, I am starting Vincent Jackson and Roy Williams. Should I also start? Jerry Porter @ Denver Samie Parker @ Chi Devin Hester vs KC Gonzales at Ten I could also pickup, Marty Booker, John Broussard, Ruvell Martin, Roddy White, Brandon Jones, or Sam Hurd. Thanks a lot for your input! To sit Reggie Bush you have to be nuts......but I agree with you, I'd sit him as well. Peterson is looking too good. Parker is a must start so he's definitly in. Bush vs Peterson is a tough match up, but I would go with the guy that will get more touches and I believe it will be AP. For your third wr I like Marty Booker the most out of that group. The Phins aren't near as good as the Giants, but the Giants had no problem throwing againt the Boys last week.
Cuse9 129 Posted September 16, 2007 Help!!! Starting Rudi vs Cle Who should I start? 6=TD, 1pt/20yrd rushing, 1pt/10yrds rec. Gore vs St. Lo or Henry vs Oak Tough one!! I think you go with the hot hand. Henry lit it up last year. He'll do the same against a poor Oakland D. He should find the endzone this week as well. Gore is a fantasy giant, but that entire offense needs to find their identity with Norv gone. Either way you it's a good decisioin, but I like Henry in this one. Cuse9 129 Posted September 16, 2007 How did I draft? Late Draft (Week 2). 10 Team League. Start : : QB RB RB WR WR WR TE K DEF Bench : : 6 Players Max Tony Romo Jeff Garcia Romo looks like he'll be a great QB to run the Dallas offense, if Hurd can contribute as the third wideout it makes Romo that much more dangerous. Garcia is a decent back up...plays Jax during Romo's bye week, don't like that too much. Frank Gore Brian Westbrook Marion Barber III Jerious Norwood Brandon Jackson Great group here. Gore and Westy are great starting duo. Barber is a solid fill in. Norwood and Jackson are nice guys to sit on and see how they develop. Javon Walker Lee Evans Laveranues Coles Chris Chambers Wes Welker Again, great starters and good back-ups. Eric Johnson Jeff Wilkins Cincinatti Eric Johnson is a weak TE, you should have been able to get better. His 8 catches week one won't happen again. Wilkins is solid. I'm not a believer in Cinci's D yet. They looked great vs Baltimore adn will again this week vs Brownies.....but we'll see when they play a decent team how good they really are. So, how did I do? Thanx Cuse! QB, RB, WR are all great.....couldn't have done much better. You'll need to find another TE, EJ won't keep up that pace and keep an eye on defenses I don't think Cinci is that good. Overall you did a great job. Your starters should post great numbers and you have very good back-ups for bye weeks or trade bait down the road. Good job......good luck!! Chimp 0 Posted September 16, 2007 Hey Cuse, hopefully you will catch this before Monday night. S. Moss or Curtis? I know Moss is explosive and the Eagles are down Lito, but they have shut down Moss the past few years. McNabb just missed Curtis on a couple of long ones last week, does he hit on one this week? Or should i just stick with Moss's big play potential?

He only had 55 catches for 790 yards last year. Curtis had 40 and 479 as the third option in St. Louis. Now that Curtis is #2 in Philly he should do quite well. Stallworth was averaging 19 per catch last year and was on pace for 1000 yds if he wouldn't have missed games. Curtis is the perfect fit in that offense and he should be a very good start. Should I take this trade? Nope. LJ will struggle this year with all the bad signs around him. Loss of another OLinemen, the holdout, the 400+ carries last year, new starting QB for this year, Kennison hurt, relying on unproven young wr's. All that is missing is LJ being on the cover of Madden. There is nothing in KC to help him. Parker is younger and has a much better team around him. Parker will have a better year this year and the next few. If KC doesn't get some other weapons to help LJ out then he is in deeeep trouble.

Chimp 0 Posted September 17, 2007 Hey, I found the thread again. Thanks for all your help so far Cuse. 2 questions for you. I know most people can careless about kickers, but i told myself if Mare missed one he was getting dropped. The Saints are just in a bad funk. Who do you like better Folk, Crosby, or the vet Stover. All are available. We get 1 extra point on FGs 50+. Folk looks good in that high powered offense. Think he can keep it up? Second, Ahman has been solid so far, but do you think i should try and trade him for someone like MJD or Duece if i can? I may start floating him on trades. Thanks again, and tell Evans and Losman to WAKE UP! He's killing me so far these first 2 weeks.

MeanMrMustard 0 Posted September 17, 2007 I'd roll with The Reverend! Isaac Bruce should bounce back and have a nice game against an average D. I wouldn't be surprized to see Holt and Bruce go for over 100 this weekend. Bruce is the same age as Harrison (Harrison is actually older). Bruce put up 1000 yds last year, he's still got it. Burleson is bad. The Colts let Johnson get those catches though. They took out Colston, Bush and Henderson.....so that simply part of the game plan to shut them down. Furrey is a nice play in ppr leagues. He'll put up alot of catches this year. Just wanted to stop in and say thanks for the advice Cuse!. I went ahead and started The Reverend, and damn did he tear it up and net me some nice points!...woot

Cuse9 129 Posted September 18, 2007 Another question for you Cuse. An owner in our 12 team league has both Bush and Deuce. he's 0-2. I was thinking of offering Evans/Ahman for Bush. You think Bush will bounce back? Any chance he goes for it? I'd say hang on to what you have. Ahman is a big reason why the Texans are 2-0. He gives balance to an offense that already has respectable receiving targets. With the improved play of the line there in no reason to think Ahman won't rush for 1000 yds. Health is the only concern with Ahman. Evans and Bush are in the same boat. Neither one of them are living up to their expectations. I think having Ahman and Evans is better than having Bush. Evans started out last year very slow then came out like a gang buster. I know I said Evans would be fine last week and I'm going to stick to that. Alot of times teams try to be cute and get others involved when they simply don't need to. Evans will start getting the ball. It's a nice trade to think about, but in the end I think you're better off staying with Ahman and Evans.

I assume the guy who has Brees also has another great starter. He can afford to wait for Brees to step it up. If you look at Cutler and Brees they are about the same so far. Both have moved the ball they just aren't finding the endzone like they should. Luckily for Cutler his defense is doing well enough to get the wins. Brees should outproduce Cutler simply due to his offensive system....but not by much. Caddy and Green. I said at the beginnig of the year that Jeff Garcia was going to be the key to Caddy's season. This weekend was huge. Jeff proved if you don't pay attention to him he could make you pay. This will open up lanes for Caddy the rest of the year. It's still a shaky line, but he'll do well. I really like Ahman as well. Fitz is the deal breaker for me. The Cards have a system down now. Run alot. This is going to open things up like never before through the air. Leinart is a good QB who will get the ball to Fitz. Fitz is a great endzone target as well. This weekend was a good indication how the rest of the season will go. Edge close to 100 with Fitz and Boldin between 60-80 per game. With big games here and there. I think this makes your overall team better. Not by leaps and bounds, but it improves your starters enough to get you 5-10 more points per week. I'd make the trade.
Cuse9 129 Posted September 18, 2007 Im in a 2 PPR league so WR and RB who get thrown to are huge. I just got offered Reggie Bush/Colston if I give up Maroney, Roy Williams. Should I make this trade? No! I'd rather have Maroney over Bush. I'd rather have Roy over Colston. As well as Colston did last year.....it wasn't as good as Roy. Roy is the #1 option on a pass happy team. Noway do you get rid of him. With his talents he could set records in that offense! Maroney is the #1 back on the best team in football. He will find the endzone this weekend. I really beleive the Pats have a plan for the first few weeks. First they had to establish Moss as an elite wr. (easy to say now). This opens up their entire offense. Once they let it be know you had better double Moss it opens up running lanes and single covers Stallworth, Welker and everyone else. Now that Moss will get all the attention I expect Maroney to be highlighted this week. While Bush is the most exciting player in the league, he's not the #1 rb or wr.....he'll do it all but put up inconsistant points this year. Consistancy wise I think Maroney is a much safer bet. I'd turn this trade down in a heartbeat.

Mare is hitting the wire as we speak, 0 points this week. Kickers are unpredictable. All I try and do is get a kicker on a team that will score alot or a veteran that I know will get me a fg or two every game.. It's pure luck to who does best. Of that group I'd go with old reliable....Stover. I wouldn't trade Ahman for Deuce. If you could get Housh or Boldin I would. You had better have good starters though, Ahman is going to consistantly put up respectable numbers all year. The offense seems to finally have it all together so don't expect a rapid decline. Housh is a great wr though, I'd take him in a heartbeat!! As for Evans. I'm going to give him a call this week and let him know what he is doing to his fantasy owners. Losman has been overthrowing him, but I put the blame on Lee. If your a top notch wr such as he is you find a way to get the ball....no excuse. I'm sure he'll apologize and put up big numbers this week. He started out slow last year as well....he'll be fine.

Those two wr's both have alot of promise this year and after this weekend the little promise that Jackson had is dwindling away. Wynn looked alot better than Jackson. It's definitly worth a shot though, even if you have to make it a two or three player trade.
Cuse9 129 Posted September 18, 2007 What do you think help master: Bush/Housh for Calvin/Sjax; who gets the better deal?? Thanks man. The Calvin/Jackson side wins. It's close, but the monster games that Jackson will have is too much. As I've stated with Reggie Bush...he's gonna have a couple great games and alot of average games. Jackson should tremendously get better the rest of this year. Housh is a great wr who puts up consistant numbers. Calvin will see increased action as the season goes and he develops better chemistry with Kitna. Housh will outproduce him, but not by enough to make up for the loss of Jackson. Cuse9 129 Posted September 18, 2007 12 man H2H 6 Points for Passing and Rushing TDMy WR Harrison Walker D. Jax Curry My RB Stephen Jackson B Jacobs T Bell L Betts Do I do a Walker for Caddy trade? I wouldn't give up Walker for Caddy. Even though I believe the play of Garcia will turn Caddy into a nice option at RB. Walker is the #1 wr and has two 100 yd games. All he needs to do is start finding the endzone. The Broncos will correct their ways and start putting points on the board. Walker is a top ten wr. DJax looks good so far but, lets not forget his drops and injury history. Curry is a nice guy to have as well, but won't be as consistant as Walker. Jacobs should be back by week four....all you have to do is squeak by another week. Oh, and go light a fire under SJackson's azz!! You'll be fine.

Problem is I still think Morency is the guy that will eventually hold that job down. Morris is spot duty only. Dayne....ugh. Joe J is solid, but you won't get many 2 TD games out of him....if anymore at all. Houston is definitly one to think about. Problem is they gave up 14 points this weekend very quickly. If Carolina can march down that quick and score....what will Indy to the entire game! Personally, I'd hang onto Cinci. Lewis is a great defensive coach. The offense is fine as it is, so Lewis can focus all of his attention on the defense. They will bounce back and be okay. Nobody and I mean nobody saw the avalanche called Cleveland coming this weekend!!
Cuse9 129 Posted September 18, 2007 First i just wanted your opinion on my draft. Decent? And another question is im looking to trade LJ any ideas on who i should look to get. First off you did a good job drafting. Pretty good depth everywhere. You'll definitly put up a good fight this year. LJ. Well, his name is bigger than his game this year. I definitly didn't expect him to put up the numbers he has in the past few years, but he's doing worse than I thought. Before the draft you could get anything you wanted for LJ......now people will be leary, but you should still be able to pull in a first/second tier wr and a second tier back for him. Don't undersell him though! He started out behind with the holdout. You couldn't expect much out of him in week one. Week two he faced the Bears. He has Minnesota, San Diego then Jacksonville so the next three games don't look very promising. The middle of the season is where LJ will light it up. During out playoffs he'll run against Tenn and Det....keep that in mind if you have a trade that you're not sure of. His best moments are definitly coming and could payoff in the playoffs. jack88 0 Posted September 18, 2007 So 12 man redraft, start 1qb/3rb/3wr/1te/1def/1pk/flex(any) and you have to draft 3qb/5rb/5wr/1te/1def/1pk Standard scoring w/ 3pt for passing td Drafted from 11th spot Qbs: Delhomme Campbell Losman Rbs: Rudi Foster L. Washington C. Buckhalter K. Keith Wrs: S.Smith Housh S. Holmes J. Galloway DJ. Hackett Te: Gates Def: Bears Pk: Folk So right now I'm sitting 2-0 with the most scored points in the league, but I know it won't last. Galloway and Smith can't go off every week. My rb's are incredibly weak, and it since we have to start 3, it sucks getting a big 0 for that 3rd spot. Looking to upgrade rbs. Who should I look to target and who should I offer up? Trying to deal galloway hardcore after his outting last week, no way he's gonna keep that up. *Side note* Last year I went hard core rbs and rode them to the playoffs while my wrs were weak. This year I tried to get ahead of the wr run and pick up quality rbs later but it never happened, other owners who usually jump all over wrs were grabbing rbs like crazy so by the time it got back to me in the 3rd, my choices were so slim, I couldn't pass up gates. (as it was like gates vs tjones thumbdown.gif ). So I snatched gates/housh in the 3rd/4th turn and cried as my rbs/qbs were pretty much shot as they were flying off the board. Boldin was still there in the 5th =( Should I just ride wrs and hope for westy/addai to go down? Thanks
