Should be an interesting battle between two mediocre teams.....

Bears 30, Lions 22

In this year's NFL there are only 2 teams that are above mediocre so I take that as a compliment for my Lions.

Hint: The Packers are not one of those 2 teams.

This, coming from the same assclown that told us Wisconsin had a top 10 team and the Brewers were making the playoffs.

swamp dog, you have competition.

Good alias!!!

I haven't been talking up Badger football that much this year.... Traditionally they have been tremendously underrated and the overcompensation made them overrated this year. Losing their two starting WRs this year hasn't helped them, but I think they can still have a good season.

Brewers came up a little short this season but are an incredibly young team. Should be in the playoffs for years to come if New York/Boston/Cubs/Mets don't buy up all their players.

HTH!!!

Now back to the topic, BJ :shocking:

Wisconsin actually had a top 10 team. Top 5 actually.

Not anymore...but that statement is factual.

Oh, and they both are pretty mediocre.

Da Bears Lions can't win on the road

Hey Donhaas, from a fantasy standpoint how's Peterson looking, he's getting a lot of receptions also any insight on Wolfe for dynasty leagues?

I know that I hide it well, but I'm actually a Packers fan

I did like the Wolfe pick when the Bears made it, but I haven't really been following him...

Bart is here...

Detroit Lions 27

Chicago Bears 23

When the ultimate Lions homer picks a narrow Detroit win, you know the Lions are in trouble

According to Tommie Harris, the Lions will not leave with a win, but this game hype will not be complete until Roy Williams makes his guarantee, which of course we all know is a sure recipe for a Lions loss!

Bears- 27

Lions- 17

As much as it pains me.

So the world seems to be predicting a Bears victory, Det homers included. Some reverse karma perhaps?

The Bears are committing less turnovers with Griese and that is a huge step up from their early season issues. On the flipside, I dont see the Bears defence creating the same havoc and turnovers as they have in the past. The DLine has not been dominating this year.

In the first game, injuries were obviously a factor. Not an excuse, just a reality. Harris, Vasher, Tillman, Briggs and Mike Brown were all out. 3 of these 5 are back now. Safety remains a week spot on the Chi D that can be exploited.

Neither team has had anything to write home about as far as rushing. This is a wash for this game, but a concern for the long term success of each team this year.

Turnovers and pass rush will determine the outcome. I expect a Bears victory - I'll suggest 24-14 and Bart to fade into oblivion for several weeks afterwards.

I have been riding Kitna down to the gutter like a degenerative gambler hoping for a big payoff and getting burned...

Is this his week?

Old man Favre threw for about 250 in the first half when he had all of his receivers against this CHI secondary...

I have Warner on bye...

I can pick up Cutler (whom I dropped recently) but he's going against the tremendous Packer D

Harrington (still confident), Culpooper, Lemon, Rosenfals, Tavaris are all strangely available

1. Lion's have not proven they can win on the road.

2. If anyone has noticed the pattern....every other week the lions have gotten blown out.

My heart wants to say the Lion's win a close one 31-28, but my head says the Lion's are going to disappoint me again and lose big----34-10.

Lions can win on the road. They beat the Raiders in Oakland, and looked good throughout that game. And as for patterns - the only pattern is that the Lions consistently beat the teams in their own division. Lions 28, Bears 16!

ill have to tune to 670am..as i dont expect this game to be televised anywhere....

had the bears signed culpepper or warner in the offseason...i wouldve NEVER picked them to lose less than 10.5 wins...a steady qb...1 that they believe in...means a world of difference...

the pack has it in brett...the lions in kitna...the bears in griese....

the vikes? not quite....

bears by 10..and when will the bears AP change his name so people stop confusing him with the productive one in minny?..he shoudl change his name to rashaan salaam....

So... we are agreed that Kitna will have a Philly-like game??

Down early and often and throwing like a mother??

350 YDs; 3TDs, 3INTS

Does that sound about right??

Consistently beat the teams in their own division? In what decade? Since 2002 the Lions are 8-24 in the division. 7-9 at home. That's 1-15 on the road. The only statistic that bodes well for the Lions this weekend is that 4 of those home wins came against the Bears. I'll give the Lions the benefit of the doubt and say...

Talking about THIS season, because that is what matters. Past losses for the Lions don't count in this season's standings.

Nice attempt at backtracking.

How does 2 games and 2 wins = consistently beating teams in their division?

But you're looking for patterns. Unless Detroit turned over their entire team, not to mention their management, this year without me knowing about it past performance does count. Not against their record, but as a best indicator of what hurdles they have to overcome. 2 home wins against division rivals doesn't add up to "consistently" beating other teams in their division. The Lions haven't played the Pack and they haven't played away against a divisional opponent. If we're looking at just this year, then you have to admit that, although they have won one game away, the Lions are 1-2 when not in Detroit. Also, that win was against the worst of the three teams. They still have problems on the road. I'm not knocking the Lions nice start, but I think they have to show us more before one can talk about them doing anything consistently. Maybe winning at home, but let's see what they can do against NY, Dallas and GB first.

Is Griese a better start than Kitna in this game???

I'd say yes. I come to this conclusion from playing Kitna over Garcia last week and losing because of it. :bandana:

I also think the Lions will try to run a lot again this game if they can. :shocking:

I know Griese will lead them to another win.

I'm starting Derek Anderson.
