TurdFergeson 0 Posted November 2, 2007 After being a fan for 20 years I have officially had enough of the sport that has become about as vanilla as ice cream. My list of grievances: They have too few short tracks as it is and are considering cutting out more of them Most of the tracks are the boring cookie cutter variety such as California that are nothing more than fuel conservation races Southern drivers made the sport fun and they are virtually extinct in NASCAR now except for Dale Jr. Most of the drivers are Jeff Gordon clones, geeks run the sport now The restrictions of speed on the super speedways has hurt the intensity of the racing The car of tomorrow is proving to be a disaster of epic proportions Having all the cars be exactly the same is no fun at all F1 is where the best drivers and competition among teams is and with DVR technology I don't have to wake up at 6am on a Sunday morning to catch the races anymore. Rybo5 0 Posted November 2, 2007 I was done with it a few years ago, when they completely bastardized their championship.
Patriotsfatboy1 1,433 Posted November 2, 2007 Well if that is how you are going to handle it, then: - turn in your double wide - take off your Dale Earnhardt bumper stickers - get your truck off the cinder blocks in the front yard - put your teeth back in - put on a shirt - give the Natty Light back to the liquor store .... most importantly.... - CUT OFF THAT MULLET! TurdFergeson 0 Posted November 2, 2007 How could you have ever been a part of it? Worst "sport" ever. It used to be quite fun actually and that's why it was the fastest growing sport for a while but they blew it. NASCAR decided to go the route of the NHL and expand just for the sake of expansion in places all over and forgot about feeding its base. Rybo, I forgot to mention the chase being another thing that screwed it up. Good call.

BiPolarBear 497 Posted November 2, 2007 I live about three miles from Texas Motor Speedway. I wouldn't go there for free if I could ride in a car with one of their dumb a$$ stars.

While I enjoy watching F1, there is no way that it will ever sell in the US very well. Think of F1 and Soccer in the same light. Both are by far the biggest sports in the world, and unless you really understand the nuances in them, they are both incredibly boring to watch. Standard soccer game 1-0 'nuff said Standard F1 race - Nice pile up in the first corner, then someone breaks away and leads the rest of the race, sometimes winning by over a 5 min. margin

wiffleball 4,797 Posted November 2, 2007 You forgot the worst part: Not enough super-cool wrecks resulting in someone's haid darn near felled off. That, and the faggoty little shoving matches that occur every weekend. I think they're purosefully trying to be more like WWE. - Which makes sense, seeing as how both Neckar and WWE share the same white-trash demographic. TurdFergeson 0 Posted November 2, 2007 Standard F1 race - Nice pile up in the first corner, then someone breaks away and leads the rest of the race, sometimes winning by over a 5 min. margin When I started watching F1 was when someone told me that they start the race from a dead stop and that they race in the rain. Those two things were enough to get me to tune in and hooked me. NASCAR nowadays requires that you understand a lot of nuances and look off a lot of boring things for you to be interested so I don't really buy that argument. I enjoy both, and I do like the fact that they race in the rain, but like wiffleball said, not enough cool wrecks in F1

Also, yer probably right. An auto techI know took me for a ride in his 650 HP Toyota Supra. He scared the crap out of me.

Why NASCAR is dying - no more personalities and they people that have them get censored. Example: how great as Dale Sr.? He could talk and everybody would listen, Jimmy Spencer although annoying had a personality, it was great when the old generation was with the new generation. Now the only guy left with any spunk is Tony Stewart and they fine him all the time. The great rivalry's are gone....
Mephisto 15 Posted November 3, 2007 This why Smash-Up Derby and Figure 8 Racing should be nationally televised sports. God, I miss the 70s.

EMoney 0 Posted November 3, 2007 This why Smash-Up Derby and Figure 8 Racing should be nationally televised sports. God, I miss the 70s. Wow! You just reminded me of one of my craziest video gaming experiences. Me and a friend had two copies of Destruction Derby on PS1 and had it linked up on two separate tvs. We played the game all night and on a Figure 8 track I kept messing his car up in a clever way that was funny to me but maddening to him. We ended up in a drunken fight at about 5 in the morning. Destruction Derby should be a pro sport.
