Lions running up the score

Recommended Posts

They were up 23-0 in the 3rd qtr and threw a 49yd TD then up by 37-0 they ran in another. :music_guitarred:

Not comparing apples to apples.

1. Defensive scores aren't running up the score. If a defender gets a turnover, he wants to run it back, and if he can, he should.

2. Up 37-0 they RAN for another score. That's the difference. If you're running the ball up big, and they can't stop the run, what do you want the RB to do, fall down?

I'm not crying about the Pats, but these are two different situations.

As a lifelong lions fan that is something I don't think i have ever heard before. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

You mean like the TD the Pats' Eckel ran in against Dallas? :music_guitarred:

Well, this does prove that we are better than the Colts since they only beat Denver 38-20 @ Indy. And if the Pats can only defeat the Colts by 4 we must be better than the Pats too. Let's run up the score on everyone the rest of the season!

they can run up the score better than the pats. they've proven they're better than the colts already by beating denver by much more. the pats are screwed in the SB if they have to face the lions. they haven't seen an offense or defense better than that.

Is it too early to be talking about Thanksgiving day?

I've been talking about it since our first victory over the Bears. So excited that this game is actually going to mean something!

GO LIONS!

Because realistically - the LIONS could give up that many points and lose the game. They weren't running up the score, they're still paranoid about their decade of losing coming back to haunt them. :pointstosky:

No, try going for it twice on 4th down and passing the ball pretty much every time up 6 TD's halfway through the 4th.

How long before the Lion's defense is at least considered "average"? The last three weeks I think is evidence enough the Lion's D is not really that bad.

I agree... still, using their recent history to justify continuing to score is pretty funny, if I do say so myself. :pointstosky:

23th in total points given up.

28th in total yards per game.

Not THAT bad.

Didn't Detroit give up 56 to Philly earlier this year?

the philly and washington game will skew their numbers yet for awhile. the only important things are their current record (6-2) and how they're playing right now (outscored their opponents 60-14 the past two weeks and dominated on defense both times). and they're 4-0 at home and 2-2 on the road--a pretty good recipe for success.

aren't you a philly fan? if so, how's that working for ya?

I will give them average.

But not sure why beating up on Griese and Ramsey should be evidence of anything.

Good win yesterday...especially putting up those points against SD...but it was only 6-0 before Cutler went out.

Ramsey alone gave the Lions 14 (not sure how to equate his ineptness at moving the ball and everything else as far as what they lost with Cutler out).

They will definitely not sneak up on anyone...but I still would not have alot of faith in that defense or Oline.

That said, they win on T-giving. Packers don't play well in the dome on Thanksgiving...have the game against the Cowboys the next week...and I will be watching it without beer at my In-laws...no cussing either. The Packers have never won a game that I have watched with my in-laws around. :overhead:

When you get blown out by Detroit... it's time to seriously consider a coaching change.

stop living in denial. they've outscored their opponents 60-14 the past two weeks ;)

the only unbeaten-at-home team in the nfc. ford field's a rockin. plus: 4 more home games :overhead:

Nobody is afraid of Ford Field.

that and they have one of the better d-lines in the league

an important point for all of their haters out there who think their defense blows.

Way to wimp out and cover your bases. I was sure GB fans had more confidence than that. Your statements sound much more like an unsure Lion's fan.

sounds like a decent excuse for a divorce.....

i kid.....

favre is just crossing off the things that get in his way....

hes winning on the road with regularity now...

hes eliminated the metrodome jinx...

he finally won in denver...

he finally beat kc

and he is going to help destroy the crap out of the lions...ill say by at least 30.....if the eagles  can roll 56 on the lions at ford....favre may be able to take a 3 step drop...jam a ball up his azz and fart the ball 20 yards for tds..this will get ugly and quick.... :bandana:

wait..win by 15..not 30...atari bigby is still the suck....

Let me tell you a little bit about the history of the Thanksgiving Day game between these two teams: Crappy, crappy world league-talented Lions teams have beaten great Green Bay teams in this game....It's very seldom a good game for the Packers.

A Packer fan would be foolish to be over confident with this game....

Packers 44

Lions 13

:dunno:

Now that's more like it. And you have to remember, the Lions lost to Joey Harrington and the worthless Dolphins on Thanksgiving Day last year.

Gave up 56 to Philly...34 to Washington.

Have flourished recently against Tarvaris, Griese 2x, and Patrick Ramsey.

Games down the stretch against the Packers twice, Dallas, SD, Minny, NYG, and KC may not be as easy.

Cover my bases? Ive called that game a loss since before the season.

They typically do not play well there on Thanksgiving.

I hope Im wrong...
