dain11279 985 Posted March 13, 2008 Daly has made $9,082,342 on the tour, but countless other millions in endorsements Yea, and too bad he's p!ssed most of that away at the tables. Not saying that it's not easy to fall into that sort of lifestyle. Some people just need to take a look in the mirror and realize what they got going for them. Cruzer 1,996 Posted March 13, 2008 absolutely, those guys have it made so easy it's sickening. now, that being said - i don't think most have any idea just how good tour players are - even those at the 125 mark. there are tons of guys on mini-tours and locally that can flat out light it up, but couldn't sniff a cut on tour. i can't imagine there being a better job than a touring pro. Oh, I don't think it's easy. I know how hard it is to shoot 100. I have no idea what it would be like to make the cut, forget actually winning a tournament. I just can't think of a better job. Just show up for the tournaments Tiger isn't at and try your best. Steve Williams has the best job ever. He doesn't have to train, practice, nothing. He just has to follow Tiger around and carry his clubs. Sh1t, some people would do that for FREE!

If you think seriously all he does is follow Tiger and carry his clubs you are sadly mistaken. What about the countless hours he spends on each and every course Tiger plays on to find all the distances, slopes of fairways, greens, the different rough lengths. Ever notice the little book that the caddies pull out when a golfer is asking them a question, every little thing the caddie has ever seen, every break, every sprinkler head is listed in that book. They get a ton of money from the golfer, but don't ever think they don't have a full time job and are part of the reason the golfer makes a great shot, wins a tournament, etc. Yes I would probably do that job for chicken feed, just to be around the game that much, but most people don't realize how much work there really is to being a pro caddie. edjr 7,012 Posted March 13, 2008 Ummm...yes...the overall talent in golf is better. I don't think it is. Not that I wanted to have this argument. The money is so outrageous, no one has the urge to bust their asses trying to win like a Vijay Singh or a Tiger. Agreed...Bmoney's trying to say you proved his point. All you did was prove that there is alot of money out there on tour. Yep, and we are the fools paying $2 a ball, $200 an iron, $300 a putter, $400 a driver. Feeding into it. Same thing in baseball. they make way too much money for me to pay $10 a beer. Now the owners shouldn't make all the $$$, but give the fans some change. I don't go. Football, they earn it, pay them more.

edjr 7,012 Posted March 13, 2008 I shoot like 50 on 9 without ever playing so a few more years of practice :fingersrossed: that's not a "real" course though. most 9 hole courses are decent, but they're 9 holes, they don't have the room to be that good. I am not trying to downplay you shooting 50, but if you play on a real 18 hole course with real rules and with all the hazards, shooting 100 is very hard. One thing people always forget is most people don't play by the real rules of golf. hitting it out of bounds on your drive, you don't get to place it on a nice patch of grass "around" where you think it went in the woods lying 2. Sorry, them's aren't the real rules, if you want a real handicap.

You have to admit though, other than hockey, golf is by far the most expensive sport. People are willing to spend a lot of money on a lot of various things to get better or to think they are getting better. Lessons alone can cost you hundreds, thousands. What a life. yes I realize he practices, but I don't know if I consider that work, or any of it as a matter of fact. I would love to be a CEO of a major corp but it's not going to happen because I don't have whatever "talent" that they supposedly have. And then get a $10 + million buyout when I suck at it. Golfers "work" a minimum of 4 days when they don't make the cut (practice day, pro am). If they make the cut, it's a 6 day week. 1 day off for travel and start the whole thing over again. These guys have a special talent that allows them to make a lot of money working at a job they love. Why the hate/jealosy or whatever the bad vibe is?
