It was a safe pick. I was hoping against hope that somehow Barber and Lynch would fall together, however....or Moss and Lynch. Barber and Moss would have been too much to ask for.

Decision time! There are only 2 considerations for me here, as I wasn't even considering the possibilty of Wayne making it back, and I would have convulsed with 2 wr's in round two. He is in camp, and his legs are fresh, after a premature ending to last season. I have to go with a back who can be dominant, and is in a Division that gives up the yardage on the ground. Here is hoping LJ can play like he did in weeks 6-9 last year, befor injury. I like the fact that they got him Albert for line help.

I'm content with the Johnson pick. I'm not a huge fan, so it's one more slot that falls to me.

Just couldn't pull the trigger on Larry Johnson...his offensive line is nowhere near what it used to be. He'll go a lot sooner than this, though, in many drafts.

Same here. I was one of the few voices speaking out against him as a top 5 pick last year, and I do not see anything to convince me that he is anything more than a second round pick to be certain, and also place him at the end of the round.

I picked him up at 2.11 in the Jetdoc mock, and more than a couple people thought it was a little early for him.

At this point, all RBs left are "potential" picks. MJD has as much of that as any RB.

I don't have a problem with the pick....just noted that it was earlier than I have seen MJD go. If Taylor were to miss some time, MJD could blow up big time.

Interesting that JScott coupled Brady with Edwards...I did the same thing in the Jetdoc, coupling Brady with Owens. Sometimes, there just isn't value to be had at RB even if it is an obvious need.

I love Grant at 2.06. He was the other back I considered at 2.02. I simply chose 4 games rushing vs. Oakland and Denver as opposed to 4 games running against Chicago and Green Bay. I realize that I also draw two games vs. the Chargers now instead of two games vs. the Lions, but that was the trade off. I know many are being scared off from Grant due to Favre's retiring. I feel Grant is an ideal 2nd round bargain at this point.

As you went WR first, you were almost locked in to best available at RB in round 2 and I think Grant is good value where you picked him.

I think everybody's confused. Remote chose Larry Johnson. Ray chose Jones-Drew. Fantasy King chose Ryan Grant.

Not at all. I looked at the other two because they weren't splitting carries like MJD. Johnson comes with injury and heavy usage concerns while grant has to do it without the threat of a HOF Qb. It is all relative at this point.

Right or wrong, I have a handful of players at RB and WR that I don't see as that different in value. I went with what I perceived as a value pick in Manning. 35 TD potential every year. I usually don't like a RB and QB from the same team, unless it's going to be a team that scores a bunch. I see no reason why Indy won't score a tone.

Just looking at the difference in going MJD vs say Edwards......

 

Trying to gauge the dropoff at each position. I am thinking I could still snipe a decent RB in the 3rd at my next pick, but wont approach the value of an Edwards or Johnson....

 

To me the disparity between MJD and what I might find at my 3rd round pick is much smaller than that between Edwards/Johnson and what I might find there....

Yeah, I meant RLLD. I was responding to the question of what other direction to go should that draft slot have fallen to my lot. Definitely would have gone Grant personally.

It's similar to what the Soloist has done with another high-powered offensive team. He chose Barber and Owens...you chose Addai and Manning.

 

I can't fault either of you for loading up on players from high octane offenses. That's usually a pretty smart strategy.
