Fumbleweed 545 Posted June 16, 2008 And the theme of choosing two top players from the same team continues with ICE grabbing Colston and Bush. Also, love the pick of Smith here. He's in for a big bounce-back year, I think.
ICEMAN 44 Posted June 16, 2008 I was really torn between Colston/Smith. I think Smith is a huge talent. The 2 things leading me to Colston over Smith were Smith's age (29. Not old, but not young by any means for a WR) and the uncertainty of the QB position in Carolina. ICEMAN
Dan 66 Posted June 16, 2008 I like Colston there. I figure there's an interesting group of talent that's happening through this stretch that makes it really fun. It'll be better when real drafts happen, because then some things will be resolved . . . hopefully.
remote controller 143 Posted June 16, 2008 26 picks and my top 26 is spent! My 24 ,25, and 26 were, Bush, TJ Housh, and AJ. This is the toughest darft I have been in to this point.

FantasyKing 4 Posted June 17, 2008 Sorry all I haven't been around much and commenting, been a very busy day with family issues but will be back around more tomorrow. Draft is going just as I predicted, no players I want to fall are falling!

gratefulted 14 Posted June 17, 2008 Well I just forced myself into believing that Old Man Holt still has some pop left in him, still good for at least 8-10 TD's.

paulinstl 296 Posted June 17, 2008 I never thought that both V4E and Ted would nab a second WR in the third round. I really thought I had a shot at geting either Ocho Cinco, Holt or Steve Smith at 3.05. I see a major drop off at that position right here. Like other June Mocks, I'm really gonna have to hit on my later round WR choices to be competitive. A Holes.
Dan 66 Posted June 17, 2008 A lot of options jumbled at this point, and most carrying question marks. I was likewise surprised at the run on receivers - there have been 11 taken to this point - and went for a question mark at RB, but a good gamble, I believe. I think the aftermath of the offensive explosion is that the Patriots are going to be forced into balance, and that will mean Maroney. That's the theory, anyway. JScott 20 Posted June 17, 2008 Two things why FWP is dropping on peoples boards: 1.) the rookie being frafted 2.) FWP had only 2 TDs last season FWP has topped 1200 rushing the last 3 seasons. You just don't give those touches to a rookie right out of the box. And his TDs will go back up. He was a 1st rounder last year, so I'm very happy to get him as my #1 RB in the 3rd. Sweet jesus thank you for taking him I was about to scream at the top of my lungs for taking MJD in the 2nd to see FWP fall to me here.... You taking him gives me some relief, as I could not possibly have let him go by me. I totally agree with your assessment, and am salivating at the notion of having access to this cat in round 3.... For IBL purposes it means I can perhaps grab a WR if I am in the bottom of the 1st round, or even grab Brady/Manning in the top of the 2nd and look forward to this kind of production being available in the 3rd..... I am enthralled at his drop in value in the minds of FF'ers... Also, I was looking at a few WR's here, but Marshall (even with the hurt arm) is the last of his type in this "band" and after him many of those who will follow have "issues" that make me think twice.... There is definitly a new philospophy in Pittsburg. Ben wants to open it up and air it out. FWP's role continue's to seemingly diminish. He isn't known particularly for his receiving abilities, so the bring in Moore. He struggles at the goaline and they have Mendenhall fall in their laps. Top it all off with getting nicked up last year, and this is a back with no real promise of major usage as in previous seasons. I feel 1200 yards and 2 tds is almost the ceiling on him. Edge, on the other hand, is good for 1400, and 7 td's. I knew he wasn't coming back to me, though I was getting a woody thinking about him making it.
Dan 66 Posted June 17, 2008 nice grab, remote. I like Plaxico a lot, but I want to see the nonsense with his intentions about sitting resolved first. He's a great talent, but he is so very stubborn.
remote controller 143 Posted June 17, 2008 This is a very similar situation for me on this turn. I would like to grab a back and be ME, but feel I can't, There are 3 I could settle for, but at least 1 of those has to make it back to me. I also don't see Fumble going Rb/Rb here. We'll wait and see. I've got 2 names written down on a paper Fumble! Edited to say I have 3 names written down!

He's a great talent, but he is so very stubborn. Coming off of a Super Bowl win, I don't see this as anything but posturing, and Shockey is likely to keep the pressure off of him looking stupid, as Shockey has that one covered! I have no concerns that Plax plays!
FantasyKing 4 Posted June 17, 2008 And he was the other that I looked at. But I wanted to see where he dropped if I didn't touch him. I am afraid of any Steeler RB this year, their schedule is VERY tough and I see a RBBC.
FantasyKing 4 Posted June 17, 2008 First off - for the second year in a row, pick #7 SUCKS! You guys are really screwing me, I thought for sure that one of my top WRs would fall to me at 3.07 but none were there that tickled my ass with a feather. I chose the best player available who is actually about #15 overall on my board in Romo. I normally would not draft this way but you fockas are forcing me into a corner. remote controller 143 Posted June 17, 2008 3.01- ICEMAN- RB Reggie Bush, NO 3.02- Vikings4Ever- WR Steve Smith, Car. 3.03- Clash of the Titans- WR Chad Johnson, Cin. 3.04- Gratefulted- WR Torry Holt, Stl. 3.05- Paulinstl.- RB Edgerrin James, Ari. 3.06- Dan- RB Laurence Maroney, NEP 3.07- Fantasy King- QB Tony Romo, Dal. 3.08- JScott- RB Willie Parker, Pit. 3.09- Ray Lewis' Limo Driver- WR Brandon Marshall, Den. 3.10- The Soloist- RB Jonathan Stewart, Car. 3.11- Remote Controller- WR Plaxico Burress, NYG 3.12- Fumbleweed- RB Ronnie Brown, Mia. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This draft is falling as according to Hoyle. There are little things here and there that don't fit individual styles, but I have seen no gaffs. My second round choice of LJ seems to be the biggest point of contention to this point and I can live with that. I would have loved to have seen Edge fall to me at 3.11, or Maroney but would have shocked had it happened. Stewart jumps out at me as a bit early, and I guess Brown possesses similar flags to LJ, but I can't fault a pick. The Soloist actually waited a bit to let one fly, as is his forte. I would really love Stewart if it weren't for Fox's history on usage of Rookie backs, but The Soloist often gets the last laugh. For me to have two Wr's at this point leaves me faint!! Edge is my favorite pick of the round. 300+ carries going in, he protects the ball, and he has no competition.
